Tablet / Ipad discussion - I need help.
which is better?
apple vs android vs ? do they all offer GPS? |
Android is best in my opinion. They all have GPS.
|
If you have to buy an ipad, wait for the iPad 2 (rumored to be coming next 1-2 months)
If you can wait to buy a tablet in general, I'd say the longer you wait the better |
its funny, the software and the applications are there, for once the hardware is actually "slacking". and by that i mainly refer to the android tablets.
|
I wouldn't worry about buying one for a few months.
If you'd like something to play around with in the meantime, grab yourself a Barnes and Noble Nook Color for $250, root it and you've got a kickass Android tablet that rivals the others available this moment for peanuts. |
bought my wife one of these. beats the shit out of an ipad. 2gb memory and windows 7.

I woud wait as well... that's what I actually do...

I have an Ipad and love it, but with a new one coming out you may as well wait for it.
Or get one now and sell it when the new one comes out. |
Wait until March / April
This bad boy is gonna raise the bar on tablets according to many market research firms .... http://www.hotblackberrynews.com/201...in-production/ |

I didn't wait and bought a Samsung Galaxy. Pretty awesome and does what it needs to do. Fills a niche and replaced a netbook. Everyone that is waiting really don't have a clue.

AT&T just dropped the price on their IPad stuff, which means the IPad 2 will be out very soon!

i am looking for something which can do GPS applications without the cellular connection some units require. as a matter of fact i dont want 3g/4g at all, just use wifi when needed. dont need it for making phone calls, thats what i have a phone for.. obviously big minus that you cannot watch flash on the I-pad.. not so sure apple did the right thing there. |
most devices on a proprietary OS are a waste of time unless you don't mind your functionality being limited. blackberry is a very limited functionality machine and their tablet will be too. it will just be a large phone.
the ipad/iphone OS is proprietary but at least they have the app store. android is a great OS too with a lot of crucial apps needed to run a web business. i have an LG gw620 phone running on android and i love it. i think the Galaxy is on android? the lenovo tablet netbook i mentioned earlier is an awesome machine that can be used as a simple tablet or a full netbook. means you can actually work on it or just read ebooks/surf/watch movies/play games. my wife and/or i use it every day. |

My wife loves it, I prefer bigger everything. Samsung has just come out with a 10" 4g version of the Galaxy. No doubt that in the coming months they will get better and cheaper. I read that there is a Chinese company getting ready to drop a 7" Android Honeycomb tab on the market for about $300. You can bet Apple ain't going to get cheaper, they will come out with smaller, spartan units at a lower price with the Apple name, but personally I'm done with Apple. I gave my MacBook to my 7 year old son till I can get him a Linux box set up. |
