Idiots believe alexa data have any importence, so stupid

for me if you say that it have any importence you are stupid!

it only matter if you try to sell site to newb who have no clue and not know how to inflate the value

if i look at my websites for statistic with big numbers and see low alexa data it makes me happy because i know it is all valuable surfer and NOT webmaster people snooping my site!

this is my word!

Agent 488 02-15-2011 08:43 AM

your alexa rank - 2,654,346.

B.Barnato 02-15-2011 08:46 AM

if any data it is US rank because -->show me money baby not leech bandwidth

candyflip 02-15-2011 08:50 AM

I like Alexa... I don't use it as my end all tool, but it's a great place to start your research.

Any site with history, ranking, and a steady graph is almost always a solid site to do a trade with or some type of business with. On the flip side, if you have a 100k rank site, and you open a 10m rank site, it's really not even worth taking a second look at past Alexa - for trades.

It's also good to use to compare equal/related sites with. Like Affiliate Programs that don't host the galleries on the aff domain... With known equal factors, you can see which ones get the most traffic, then you know which sites to research for traffic sources.

i agree TheDoc

Dude I know a awesome pizza place in Escazu but in general yes the pizza sucks here. The food here is generally healthy that is why.

As for Alexa is very broad tool, it can be off by a huge amount and for the most part is just for fun.

_Richard_ 02-15-2011 11:15 AM

have always used alexa first

blackmonsters 02-15-2011 12:23 PM

Alexa states that it is not accurate at all for sites doing less than 100k a day.

I do consider that alexa is "reasonable" in many regards to looking at sites under
100k because, First of all, it's accurate in that the site is not doing 100k. :1orglaugh

Healthy food in Costa Rica. That made my day.

V_RocKs 02-15-2011 02:10 PM

Dude, you sound like you are talking about fake rankings on 100,000 site and not true rankings and history on a 14,000 or lower site.

Yep Right on the nail.

Lots of people also dont realize that Alexa info can be delayed so I have read of up to 90 day delay.

Hermes 02-15-2011 02:33 PM

Oh so it must be pure coincidence that google, facebook and youtube are the top 3 sites on Alexa.

Young 02-15-2011 02:41 PM

Alexa is good at spotting trends. Decent sample size. Same pool of people. Perfect for that sort of thing.

I wouldn't want to see anything less than stats directly off of the server or Google Analytics if traffic is what I was basing my purchase on. But even that stuff can be gamed.
