The new Spartacus is so SO SOOOOOOO sick (sweet).
First episode was so satisfying to my ID but 2nd episode delivered even further in it perfectness.

The sequence that keeps cutting back and forth between the fighting outside and the "forced" banging inside was epic. They'll write books about this sequence alone!
Overall just such a solid show and John Hannah is the DAWG!

Are you talking about season one, or the new Gods of the Arena? Gods is great, but Season one is epic. If you think its good now, just wait until about about 5 episodes in --- that's when it really gets great. Some awesome storytelling, severed throats and titties galore.

I hear the lead in Episode one had cancer and thats why they did a prequel? Is this true? Season 2 is ok, only 6 episodes though. Anyone remember the HBO series Rome? Now that was kick ass.

Yah, he got cancer and went into treament so they decided to do the 6 episode prequel in the meantime. Then he ended back up in treatment so they have now selected a new lead for season 2.. Liam McIntyre

Season One was indeed Epic. but Season 2 (this prequel season) is even BETTER! It's fucking perfect so far. Episode 3's only flaw is just how heavily they telegraph the fact that Batiatus is going to kill his father (sorry if you perceive as spoiler alert, but if you watch episode 3, which is AWESOME, it's so fucking obvious! I just wonder how he'll do it! Something fucking devious and fucked up I'll bet. And who do you guys think kills Gannicus? My $'s on Crixus for sure, but it could be doctore or even doctore's wife!).

Stick with it. I almost bailed at first also, but it gets really, really good and you'll probably grow to love it. So all I can say is have patience.

I watched first episode of gods of the arena first, wasn't impressed in first few minutes and was hooked by the end of the episode and decided to watch from the beginning.

i'm waiting for 4th episode of second season now posted on netflix anytime over this weekend, probably tomorrow

Yeah, keep watching - each episode got better and the ending of the first season is amazing.

The style is pure comic book but they also provide enough real/realistic historical detail to make it tons of fun.

I'm telling all you people that are either just starting Season One, or are maybe at around episode 4 and on the fence. Stick with it to the end. You will be rewarded with an awesomeness that has never been seen on TV before. Like most good TV shows, its a slow burner.

The new season is great too, and it redefines over the top -- but in a good fucking way.
