Help me out with this domain valuation, please...
 

I have a friend that owns makeitlegal.org

He has a guy that wants to buy the domain. He is President of an organization that would benefit from it, so the .org makes sense.

I am not a domainer by any stretch of the imagination.

What do you think he could fetch for this domain? It is not developed and has no known traffic.

I have to let him know in a few hours.

I told him to start at $1,500 and see if he can get it. That is actually way more than I thought, which is why I turned here. He'd probably be happy with $500.

Talk about beginners luck. It is his first domain. He bought it last year, realized he has no idea how to build a site and let it sit. Along comes this guy trying to buy it from him.

He wants to sell it, but isn't going to be greedy about it.

Tell your friend to get all money up front before selling this domain because, honestly,
that domain is not worth that much money.

A scammer could be trying to milk your friend.

If they promise your friend big bucks but he has to pay some "fee", then fuck it, it's
a scam. (ie. they will buy the domain after a paid valuation from domainscam.com which they own)
