How much do you charge for a site like this?

Im thinking of charging about $10,000 for the full package.

Fair price???

Exactly this. That can easily be done with wordpress

fatfoo 02-06-2011 01:53 PM

$10,000 would be too high.

TheSenator 02-06-2011 01:55 PM

I'm talking mainstream pricing, not ghetto ass bottom feeder shit. This client drives around in a SL 550 and has multiple offices.

Linguist 02-06-2011 01:57 PM

There you have it.

Get loreen to make it for you for $800, charge $10,000, profit.

$10,000 is not unreasonable for a site like that though. $5k-$7k is more realistic but also depends on how soon they want it.

TheSenator 02-06-2011 01:57 PM

There is a difference between price vs value.

Someone who understands :)

wehateporn 02-06-2011 02:07 PM

I wouldn't put the price too high, you might be able to get other business from him if you're not too greedy; think long term. Not as low as $800 either

TheSenator 02-06-2011 02:08 PM

I know I can lock down 5000.00 but I want to go as high as I can to 9999.99.

This guy is flamboyant and wants the best, so maybe I should just go all out and reach 20,000.00.

candyflip 02-06-2011 02:08 PM

If you can get $10k, then by all means...fucking go for it. But you will likely scare most people away with a price like that.

I could have that done for under $1200, so would probably price the quote around $3600 and go from there.

But if you've got a feel for the guy and think he wants to spend some money and has it...GO FOR IT.

Tell him 8k + a quarterly fee of 500 for maintance or 12k without the fee.

This ^

Honestly get what you can for it. This guy's a dentist, most likely it's a one project deal so why not get what you can. Also judging by the car he drives you can sell him on the "top of the line" aspect. Sure, he can get a website cheaper- even let him know that. Sell him on how he wants himself and his practice to be represented on the web. :2 cents:

jkthedesigner 02-06-2011 02:37 PM

Nicky's got it right. You can have a reputable designer do it for 1/3rd of it and simply manage them. Quarterly is the best way to go. Monthly is far too much of a hassle

$3,500 tops and in reality that's overpriced.

That's no reason to rip people off though.

Wow! he did Charlie Sheen's Teef

TheSenator 02-06-2011 02:43 PM

Thats some good advice....

I think 10,000.00 is bit too much but I have a gut feeling for this one.

I rather deal with bigger clients with bigger budgets because they tend to be hassle free.

The guy looking for an 800.00 site is usually a pain in the ass.

Rarely will you ever find anyone willing to pay more... at least not in Adult.

Mainstream money is totally different.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 02-06-2011 02:56 PM

Considering he charges people out the ass for a service that's valueis inflated about 100 times, he can afford to pay the $10k...

Yup it is.

polle54 02-06-2011 03:23 PM

$4-5k ish is what I would charge through my company.

If it was beside my business I guess around $2-3k

seeandsee 02-06-2011 03:28 PM

People like you are why I was happy to finally get ride of my H2. When ever I had someone come out and give me an estimate I always felt like I was getting extra tacked on because I had an H2 in the drive way. Not that it is a really expensive vehicle but the perception was that I must have a lot of money so they could charge more.

I don't care how little or much I made, I always wanted the best deal and its hard to get people to give you competitive bids when they think your loaded.

So you base your prices off of what he drives and how many offices he has?

You did ask for what was a "fair" price not how much you could over charge him because you think he can afford it.

Brujah 02-06-2011 03:35 PM

I know a great SEO guy if you want to upsell.

5-7k is more fair.

templatemonster.com :)

d-null 02-06-2011 06:08 PM

if you are talking about design just being a set up of the shell and a bunch of lorum ipsum then that is one thing, but it looks like whoever did this site has also put in the time to input all of the content and did seo and sitemaps and everything else quite well, I could see this being a pretty big job to do properly, quite a few hours :2 cents:

does the client understand the hosting side of things? or is he assuming that you supply that as well? looks like the one you linked is on a windows server
