Problem with this war, it is going to get NASTY. For the Iraqis for sure, but also for any force invading Iraq. When invading large cities ( Bagdad and Basra I think are the 2 largest ), all that high-tech equipment wont do you much good, when you have to fight from house to house. And I think the Iraqi bastards will put up a fight, Saddam or no Saddam. And with CNN following every footstep of the soldiers, you really cant do too much shit without creating a public relations nightmare. |

I have inside info...... :glugglug |
It's going to be a hard war fighting in the cities?
Our SWAT team from Bumfuck, Nebraska can take over the city of Baghdad without any help from our military. Ever hear of the Abrams tank? The last battle they had they destroyed 100+ Iraqi tank in the desert and I think one of our tank got dirty from a sandstorm. As far as civilians getting killed there? well it would only be their own fault because we are dropping leaflets in Iraq telling them we are coming so if they elect to stay, oh well, become a casualty of war. Since the Gulf War in 1991, the world's technology has advanced 100+ years, an example is the internet. Iraq is still in the Dark Ages. These people are no threat to our military. |
My best friend from college flies helicopters in the USMC and is being deployed to Kuwait next week.
I am guessing Bush schedules an announcement for Super Bowl Sunday. Last year he made a couple of key speeches just before kickoff time on football Sundays. Inevitable is an understatement. It didn't matter what the public thought, what the weapons inspector reports said, or anything else. He was going to make it happen no matter what. |
So in this war, do people actually shoot back cause I was left a bit confused after the last one ???
:question |
My girlfriend's son is a Captain in the USMC ... and he will be departing soon. I'm thinking early March.

Already started

The US WILL win the war/invasion, no doubt about that... Question is at what cost..? Bagdad and Basra are HUGE cities, with people living basically on top of eachother, and my guess is they are going to put up a fight. |
Since the US is going to war no matter what was found or not found. There will be many that are killed and many more that have to suffer through the horror of war.
There is really no reason that the US has to screw with Iraq so much, what happened to chasing Osama?, I guess that since they failed there as of now, there needs to be some "revenge" on the 9-11 attacks here. Saddam knows that the US has the advantage here in troop strength, resources, etc. Saddam knows this is it. he is toast. The US troops are walking into a very bad trap. Saddam is going to go out in a hail of fire. He will do everything to take as many with him as possible. Then the middle east will REALLY get pissed. Next thing, its WW III and back to cavemen. Sucks for all, and since war really dont work, how about we all try to give peace a chance. Lates!! Herb K |
