Something died in my roommates room

It smells like death, like mouse or rat death

Just started smelling 2 days ago, the room can be aired out and is ok for a bit (or I just get used to it) then it starts smelling like awful rotten dead shit again

Went into the attic and nothing to be found except rat shit, ugh.

No bodies or anything

He ripped apart the room but nothing was found

This fucking sucks, how to fix?

It's probably in the walls or some shit

Will it just go away eventually? After the meat decomposes and dries up and shit? FUCK!

It might be poo?

I used to like poo...

"Dead mice within walls are not easily accessed. In this case, it is advised that homeowners do their best to mask the scent of the dead mouse, rather than attempt to remove the dead mouse itself."

If you are on a raised foundation you might go under and keep an eye on the framing above you. I had this problem at my last place, when I was doing a renovation of the house.

It takes a while for it to decay enough for the smell to go away. If this is day two, you either want to find it or take a vacation for a week or two.

spazlabz 02-05-2011 12:39 PM

it could be in the air ducts, never hurts to shine a flashlight in them and see if you can find it that way

Pull up a floorboard and shove a hungry cat in there.

yep the rat/mouse may have fell down in the wall and couldnt get out. this happened to a friend of mine. bad smell like a week later flys started showing up when no windows were open. sometime before this we would hear like something sounding like it was chewing brick. :1orglaugh it was a mess.

baddog 02-05-2011 01:02 PM

And rats are a lot bigger than mice, so take a lot longer. You really want to find it and it is going to be in a tough spot. When we found ours, I had to have a small friend climb in the area. He only found it because the tail was hanging off the beam. Bring a bright lantern type flashlight. Wide, bright beam.

either find that animal or buy something like electronic air fresheners.

dead hookers take a long time to decompose.
