by selling their email addresses to big programs to spam? one of the few adult paysites i've joined - as a surfer i'd never join it again.

That's a deal many companies have made with Gamma. Gamma has an email solution that performs quite well. The email addresses aren't sold.

Ugh. Don't do that. You'll squeeze some pennies out of it, but you strip away a layer of trust/respect that affects yours and everyone's future sales. People shouldn't have to make spam accounts to pay us for our content.

Emailing ex members once a month a mailing which they can unsubscribe from isn't a problem imo. I get emailed from every company (mainstream or adult) that I've spent money with.

Ah, I see. If it's a "we've missed you/save by rejoining" thing that they're sending through a third party service, that's not offensive to me. And I know those work.

One email you'll receive will be for Allure and one will be for gamma.

My question is this. If I email you an offer to rejoin is that ok? What if I email you an offer to join another site we recommend. Ok or not?

if YOU email me as an ex-member of Twisty's saying 'hey former member, we thought you might like this site, Digital Desire' that's one thing - not the same as me getting an email direct from GammaCash promoting one of their sites 'on behalf' of Twistys. that's selling/renting my email address to a third party.

no, that's not it.

this would be like you selling me your ex-members email addresses with no strings attached - i mail your ex-members anything I want. you've sold their email address to somebody they have no relationship to without their permission.

that is important - it means a third party with whom i've had no contact with now has my email address. how do you think I get 300 spam emails a day? my ISP email address is pretty much useless now.

My understanding is any emails sent out to our list for gamma sites are sent as hey check this our former Twistys member.

I don't like the idea of them sending as them.

you will get some form of spam everyday - just set up email filters.

Get use to it, Several companies are trying to squeeze every $$$ they can.

I get those from the partnerships Shap is talking about, to companies doing their own upsell to members.
