Wait until a piece of seaweed or garbage floating under the water clogs the intake on the motor and kills the jet of water.

Slow news day. This Egypt thing is taking too long.

$20 for 10 mins....
well placed site for 2 months of peak tourist traffic...
let's say for 10 mins on, there's 10 mins off, so in a 10 hour day, 5 hours total usage time == 30 rides
30x20$ == $600/day
x60 days = $36k

even if you pick your site well, it will never make a profit....

$20? You can barely rent a paddle boat for $20. I highly doubt anyone would rent that for $20.

I don't mean renting - I was figuring more of an "attraction" type thing, since you don't actually go anywhere with it.
Go on then $100/hr if you do actually go somewhere with it... still doesn't pay for itself easily once the novelty disappears after 2 seasons.

yup I agree, plus there will be all kinds of liability involved for the owner of the craft, you cant learn to operate that thing in 15 minutes:2 cents:

borked 02-04-2011 12:56 PM

eg, I can rent a jetski for €50/hr, so why would I ever fork out the 10k or whatever they cost to buy + maintenance. 3 or 4 times per summer does me fine.

DateDoc 02-04-2011 03:20 PM

I'll take 2 and some real light sabers for air battles.

Chosen 02-04-2011 05:48 PM

If this were 2003 or 2004 I'd say that would be a great way to showcase your name at Internext, Miami.

Sigh.. I miss the good ol' days...
