woohoo! Finally a good decision from Ottawa :)

BlackCrayon 02-03-2011 02:30 PM

wow, i'm surprised. a decision in favor of the consumer for once. regardless this only effects those who already have unlimited accounts from the old days and those using resellers. i still have a cap on account unless i were to move to a reseller.

garce 02-03-2011 02:43 PM

So, are they going to re-imburse me for the more than $150 in overages I've already paid to Sympatico? I'm not going to read the article or phone anybody right now.

Somehow I doubt it, though.

i never got capped...they called to tell me they had a new program for me..i refused it and said i liked the one i had and i wasn't going to a capped system....they left me in my unlimited...i'm not joking.

i think i use 2 gbs a month..lol

so all this is unwarranted...it was really going after those doing massive uploads and downloads

Ross 02-03-2011 02:46 PM

I never thought they'd let them do it, they have way too much to lose.

moeloubani 02-03-2011 03:34 PM

rogers charges me overages i doubt that will end anytime soon

Itchy 02-03-2011 03:56 PM

They're going to look over it again.

Dappz 02-03-2011 10:02 PM

this is was a good news :)

Rochard 02-03-2011 10:08 PM

Good because this could have been a huge problem. It's unfair to try to limit information like that. Or porn for that matter.

ISPs can still cap. The difference is capping is not REQUIRED as this new law was going to make ISPs do. Basically the big Canadian ISPs wanted to force the small ISPs to cap so they wouldn't steal business from them by offering cap free internet.

Spunky 02-03-2011 10:20 PM

The man won't hold us down!

AzteK 02-03-2011 10:24 PM

It originally must have been a French idea.
