Any have ever do this? Is it common? If so what have you gotten?

Thanks

Hey Chris, sorry your kid is failing... but is bribery the way to go?

J/K... I've had my kids give presents to their teacher, usually something small like a coffee cup filled with candy or something along those lines.

Perfect suggestion. Small, thoughtful but not over the top.

Last year was my sons first year in school. At the end of the year on one of the work days for teachers we took both of them to a nice lunch at a great place. it was a place they would never be able to afford so it was something special for them.

hehe and word gets around.

I always give gifts to my children's teachers.

Wawa gifts cards, Vera Bradley Bags, and cheesecake.

CaptainHowdy 02-03-2011 01:07 PM

A card would be nice...

We usually get our teacher a gift card to Target - even more so being as Target is a block away.

We also donate through out the year. Every time we find ourselves in Target or an office supply store we'll be some markers, pens, pencils, paper, whatever, and send it off to school. We usually hit the dollar store once a month or more, so we also buy tissues and that kind of stuff. This morning my wife dropped off four boxes of granola bars for her class, although I have no clue of why.

double dong or fleshlight

depends on what it's for and if your class gives gifts as a whole. gift cards are preferred. don't think about it too much and go with some cutesy shit.

Rochard, taking stuff like that up there is probably really appreciated by the teachers. they usually have to buy that shit on their own and may or may not get reimbursed for it.

we did the donation thing at the start of the year

the class had two older macs so i donated an extra imac and an ipad..the teacher has found a ton of uses for the ipad within the class room

Just a thank to you to the teacher - I was talking to another parent who has a couple other kids that have gone to this school and she kinda hinted that parents tend to buy gifts for the teacher in private schools.

This is my first child so i'm not too sure on whats "proper" ...but i think i'll have my wife make her a card ( she's crafty like that ) and i'll put in a gift card to target or something like suggested here:)

not sure about how things work in other places, but my wife is a teacher and she has a couple parents that give gifts as "thank yous". we live in a nice area and most of the families in her school have money. individual gifts range from starbucks to target to nordstorm to restaurants. if your kid is bad, make the gift a little better ;)

think you're on the right track
