What features would *you* like in a TGP script?
I'm tired of dealing with crappy PHP scripts, so, I'll be working on a new, from scratch, TGP script, and I need some ideas.
First off, the decisions that are inflexible: - it is written in python - it will use RSS feeds for it's content Beyond that, it's wide open - things I'm planning at this point: - custom parsing strings for extracting thumb_url, title, description, category (basically, better handling of weirdly formatted feeds) - configurable update interval per RSS feed - support multiple thumb urls from each RSS item - support multiple domains with per-domain themes and included categories Things I'm considering, but unsure if should be included: - top clicked galleries bar (auto promotion) - link exchange support built in - still debating static html generation vs decent caching - supporting multiple pages (i.e. archive) vs just a set number of thumbs on a single page. So, what am I missing? All suggestions welcome... |
Built in Trade Script.....
Vanilla TGP has one, but the script as a whole gives me a headache. |
Check out www.adultaffiliatedollars.com for quick imports into a TGP script. If you make a import form in your TGP then it will be easy for webmasters to import those 70,000 hosted galleries.

why bother with a new tgp script.... reinventing the wheel 10 years too late

A little late, mate.

It could well be late, I'll admit. I'm primarily a backend dev, working with data and security - I admit I don't know the market.
Primary motivator here is someone I know wants a decent TGP script, and it is something that is easy and quick (for me) to write well. And the plan is for this to be licensed under the AGPL, so free and open source. I've considered a better GS/BA clone as well, as I've done similar things in the past, but at least those scrips work well. Hell, what tools are needed? I'm always interested in more (interesting) projects, especially if they deal with data mining - but gotta finish this one first. |
i give path to directory and it will fetch all images from it create thumbs and displays on page and rotates after predefined time., and all images hyperlinked to programm url :)

The ability to take a image from a FLV file so you can import hosted FLV galleries.
|
To transform into a tube site script...

FLV snapshotting isn't too hard, and is a good idea
