No, it wasn't real, and it was kind of a weird choice they made to have "real"(with actors) footage then the famous actors playing the people in the real footage. It was trying to be too fucking meta, and it ended up being confusing.

I will say that the unknown actress who played the doctor(with the big weird eyes) was phenomenal. I was pretty captivated watching her.

I really liked the movie. I loved the way they made it as "realistic" with the actors portraying actors. Made the whole thing easy to believe
