Superbowl: prices

I heard that it's $200 just for a parking spot in a tailgating section where you can watch the game from outside.

But then I heard that if you're actually GOING to the game and have a seat inside, and you plan to bring your car, it'll cost you $500 just to park.

True?

Anyone have a line on how the commercials are going to be this year? This is the one time of the year when I actually watch them.

Holy chit that's a bit of $$ just for a tailgate party !!

MaDalton 01-31-2011 02:30 PM

hurray for public transport

bignasty 01-31-2011 02:42 PM

Saw something on yahoo earlier about close parking spaces for almost a thousand.

TommyM 01-31-2011 02:56 PM

We should have those prices for parked domains ;)

gaffg 01-31-2011 04:02 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers priced at +120
Green Bay Packers at -140

thickcash_amo 01-31-2011 04:06 PM

damn I would rather go to a party and sit on a comfy sofa with my free beverage than pay that much just to park

there is an area outside of the stadium they are charging 200 bucks just to watch the game on big screens...wtf!
and the article also said SB tickets were 4X as much so people are paying 800 bucks on average for an SB ticket?
very sad.

$800? That's cheap! Go look at StubHub for the going rates for SB tickets, they start at $2k!

$200 for parking, $200 to watch the game OUTSIDE on a TV, so around $400 total just to get in and not even in the stadium.

If you want to go inside tickets are around $2k for the worst seats.

Spunky 01-31-2011 09:38 PM

Damn, that is insane, renting a limo to drop you off would be cheaper

fatfoo 01-31-2011 09:47 PM

$200 to park - wow, that's a huge cost.

beerptrol 01-31-2011 10:56 PM

I'd rather stay home and watch it on the big screen

I never understood why anybody who was not a multi millionaire would spend thousands to go to the super bowl. What a waste! (unless your team is in it :winkwink:)

CDSmith 02-01-2011 09:31 AM

Stay at home and you get to see the commercials. Oh wait, they get shown inside the stadium too don't they? Oh well, can't refill your glass and refill the munchy bowl in under 30 seconds in the stadium, only at home. :D

Speaking of 30 seconds I'm hearing that it's $3 million for a 30 second spot this year.

Here's a brief rundown of the commercials this year --
http://www.irondequoitpost.com/sport...wl-commercials
Quote:

Best Buy will debut their first ever Super Bowl commercial in the third quarter. The company is using Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne in an attempt to help the company move past the big-box retailer stereotype.

The biggest buyer of Super Bowl ad time is the auto industry where as many as nine different car brands will be featured.
General Motors paid for a commercial for the Chevrolet brand, their first ad in two years. BMW is returning to the big game after 10 years away.

Mercedes-Benz will run their first ad ever, which will feature a cameo by Diddy. Kia has a 60-second commercial expected to run in the first quarter tied into a contest for a 2011 Optima.

Diddy isn’t the only celebrity who will be in a Super Bowl commercial.

Kim Kardashian is the star of the Skechers 30-second spot; Faith Hill will appear in the Teleflora ad; “Biggest Loser” star Jillian Michaels will join Danica Patrick in the GoDaddy.com commercial.

Movie studios will continue their recent trend with plenty of Super Bowl commercials.

Disney has bought time during the game for the fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean” film and “Cars 2.” Paramount is advertising five films including “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” and “Thor.”

Anheuser-Busch has locked up Super Bowl ads through 2014. The company is scheduled to have five commercials running in this year’s game.

The Clydesdales will appear in a 60-second Budweiser Spot. The Bud Light spots will continue the “Here We Go” campaign that debuted at last year’s Super Bowl.

The Clydesdales aren’t the only popular character returning this year. The E-Trade Baby will make an appearance in this year’s game.

Yeah cause the limo companies are not on to this cash grab. lol

kristin 02-01-2011 09:54 AM

They have shuttle buses that should be taken. We went to the Superbowl last year - fucking awesome - and had a limo take us all. It took forever to get through traffic and I can't imagine parking if the limos didn't have a special section to park in.

CDSmith 02-01-2011 10:18 AM

Helicopter. That big massive totally not overrated billion dollar stadium must have a helipad somewhere, right?

Hey if you're springing $3k or $5k per ticket or whatever it is and a few more k for hotel and air you may as well splurge and get your crew choppered in. ha

spazlabz 02-01-2011 10:20 AM
