it was question of time...

thanks for sharing but need to make sure people are aware that android offer a full range of devices for all budgets so you would expect them to have a bigger share than iphone at this stage. Nokia well what can i say apart from they really dropped the ball as they had the market a few years back!

If you cant afford a decent device will you pay X per month on products for it?

considering that Android started like 2 years later and not one but many hardware developers needed to develop matching devices first, Android made a massive leap last year - see the 615% growth. Wait another year and the numbers will look very different. At that time Android will be well over 50%, Nokia more like 10-15% and Apple maybe 20-25%.

Until now, Apple was only on AT&T... Google is on all carriers. Also most people I talk to
complain about the android phone.

funny, i am happy and i know at least 2 people within my friends who switched from iPhone to Android

I believe the market will change once the Iphone becomes available on Verizon and other carriers.

At this time I have the Droid2. Droid2 has several features that are not available on the Iphone. However I will probably switch to the IPhone when it becomes available and my cell contract is up for renewal. The Iphone has a much smoother interface than the Droid.

i know americans like to think of themselves as the center of the universe, but we're talking global market here. :winkwink:

and in most other countries the iPhone is already available on more than one carrier

but verizon will surely give it another push and i expect the iPhone to grow too, just not as much as Android. Nokia and Windows will be the big losers here, RIM still has loyal company clients.

Yeah here in DK you can have an Iphone on all carriers, me personally would never own an Iphone just because its Apple and all the "laws" they got... Andriod is the way to go for sure, and will be in future too...

Just got my Evo 4g and lovin it.

I still love my G1.

Apple will lose the phone wars the same way - and for the same reasons - they lost the PC war...

HTC Desire will be my next purchase i think!

Call me crazy but this Android mania so irritated me that several months back I've purchased symbian nokia phone just because of that. I won't use all those features anyway.

Why don't they just go ahead and make Android... good?

And of course there are more Android phones. It's ONE product VS an OS that is on hundreds and hundreds of products.

Android is the way to go this days, I have a Droid2 and I have no complains about it. And my next gadget will be the motorola XOOM.

because it's not about making money on the hardware anymore. right now Apple is way ahead with iTunes and the app store, but the more Android devices out there the better the chances for Google to make the big money in the future.

The Android (HTC Evo 4G) is a BIG reason Sprint is on the rise as well. Yep, a single phone almost single handedly turned around the phone company.

Android. The soon to be Windows of cell phone devices...but unlike Windows (and Microsoft)- Google will just be there to guide it and not control every single aspect of it.

There's a lot of good and bad in that statement.

Apple was breaking new ground with their Iphone. But now all the phones are the same - keyboard, text, email, internet, music, gps, apps, pictures, videos, blah blah blah.... All one and the same.

I'm with Verizon and I have an Andriod.... And the Iphone is coming.... But why switch? What does the Iphone do that my driod can't?
