Opinions about revshare, PPS programs
I don't have much experience in the business, so was looking for opinions. I originally thought that recurring payments would be great (you keep making money), but upon research it seems as though most customers cancel after one month or never go past the trial subscription. Because of this I feel as though PPS at $35-40 must work better when you get that money even for the trials. For all those more experienced in this industry, please weigh in!

that depends on the sponsor
we have very high rebills as we do daily exclusive updates |
Yes, it depends.
Try different programs with different sponsors, and stick with the ones working best for you. |
What sponsors have you tried recurring with?

Yep. Chose wisely.

Promote quality sites that your surfer will be satisfied with = get paid.
Scam your surfers = get burned If the company is scamming it's customers there's a very good chance you're next. There's nothing wrong with PPS or Revshare, but you need to look at every program individually. Both can be done very differently by programs. I've seen scummy revshare and scummy PPS and vice versa. |
As the others have said it all depends. You will need to experiment and see where revshare makes sense and where it does not. One thing to consider which few webmasters speak about is the trustworthiness of the program. On revshare there are more opportunities to shave or run off with the money. When you go revshare with a sponsor you should think of it as a more long term partnership. You need that sponsor to remain in business so that you can continue to collect your rebills. You also want to be sure that they will pay you your fair share. With PPS on average the most you will ever lose is one month's commissions as long as you pull links at the first sign of trouble.

Generally speaking revshare is the better way to go for long term revenue.

Ask yourself why a sponsor would keep paying you PPS if every one of the joins coming from you actually do cancel after the trial or after 1 month? They're going to move you to revshare if your leads are truly very poorly converting.
Some little insight from their POV is important IMHO when you are deciding. Because in either case, the sponsor is tracking how your trials convert, and how your converted trials recur every single month. You can always try links both ways, (with most sponsors anyway). Maybe even rotate them and track dates and times and other data. Good luck |
Do both. Diversify. If you go for revshare, look for what amount you get after the sale. Some pay sites are $14.95/month and 60% revshare. While others are $39.97 a month and 60% revshare. What do you prefer? :)

Rev Share all the way PPS a con "Program always wins" or they push you to rev anyway! Watch those programs that change life time rev share terms (if traffic stops they stop paying) as may burst your bubble of retiring to that hammock on the beach :thumbsup

In a biz where there is little truth...you are a shining light.

I do revshare on micro niche stuff they'll have a hard time finding elsewhere. But on saturated stuff like teen or milf I do pps.

first I try on sponsor Revshare, if it dont converts good on some months, then switch to PPS

If you're buying traffic or in another situation where your business model requires a quick return on investment go PPS.
If you are generating traffic yourself, running ads through your own sites, mailing your own lists, or aren't in a money crunch- if you can be patient generally speaking RevShare will do better for you in the long haul. I have found, with the end of the business I work in, webmasters who choose revshare make more money. Probably the most important tip I can offer if you are thinking about going with RevShare is do a little homework. Use some GoogleFu and even a little GFYFu and check on what sponsors are known to fuck with your recurring comissions. Will they threaten to cut your rebills if you try out a competing program, will they threaten to cut your rebills if your traffic dies down, what if your traffic stops completely? Hope that helps. |
