Do you have an iPhone and iPad at home? HELP! What router do you use?

I have tried 2 different routers I have laying around---they both work fine for everything else.

But when I use my iPad or iPhone with either... they will connect and work good for a few minutes, then disconnect and never connect again.

I must disable wi-fi on the device, then re-enable it for them to connect again and the shitty process repeats.

What Router do you use?

I've switched through several routers as I keep on giving them away to family and friends when theirs go bad.

Belkin and Linksys N routers work best for my iDevices.

Switch to WPA2 encryption and see how that works.

Linksys here... no issues.

Being wifi, make sure your devices mac address is put into your routers settings.

I have the mac time capsule and i utilize that for my wireless router. Seems to work great and the speed is fantastic!

Never had any problems with any routers or "hotspots" either come to that with my iPhone.

Netgear here... works fine. zero issues.

Make sure you are running the latest firmware on your router. I have a d-link that wouldn't work at all with my xbox 360 wireless adapters (a known bug in my router).

Once I updated the firmware the problem was fixed.

stay away from dlink routers, they have had issues with apple products, my dir-655 was useless for them.

i have a cisco wrt-610n works great.

beerptrol 01-29-2011 11:49 AM

we have a Belkin Play N600 Dual-band Router and the ipad and ipod touch work just fine

funny, I was just about to trouble shoot my Ipad WIFI connection... geting 0.4mbps on it for downloads, and my laptop gets 18mbps on download... definitely an issue, have the same issue with apple TV that I never bothered to fix. Apple is pissing me off

Try it without router security enabled.
