Do you use free hosts?
I have a question for you if you do, and I'm being serious. I'm kind of curious for some reason.
Why do you use a free host? 3 years ago when bandwidth was $7/gig I could see using a free host for some stuff. I didn't use them much, but at least I could see the point. Bandwidth is down to between 50 cents and $1.50/gig. That's nothing. It's dirt. Not to mention you don't lose any of the traffic to the enormous headers/footers on most free hosts and the server will most likely be faster so you'll make more money with no traffic loss. So why are you using a free host? |
Because...
You then newbies dont worry about any bills and if their galleries are going to convert or not to pay their bill. If you know how to convert good, you've been designing galleries for a long time , then you would obviously use a paid host. |
...becouse i'm stupid??

the most of people that use free host are school students.
their mom doesnt want to give them money :1orglaugh |
Lots of reasons to use them, but we wouldn't trust ANY as far as we could throw them unless it possibly was one from a sponsor. Then I'm sure plenty of people will start crying that you'd get screwed there and maybe more so. NEVER underestimate the power of a server sub-routine. lmao :Graucho

Fatpad.....why do you care? Who cares. Nothing at all wrong with using freehosts if people want to. They are a great way of getting started affordably.
I run over 40 sites, all different kinds, both adult and mainstream, and yes, I still have a few sites sitting on freehosts. A few have been there for 4 years, and they still make me money. The freehosts I've chosen have SMALL headers and footers, and are fast, reliable, and tgp - friendly. (smutserver, lightningfree, etc and a few newer ones are all good) And think about this.... with a paid host, you PAY. With a freehost you STILL pay, but not in dollars but in traffic. SOME of your traffic clicks on the headers, very little of it clicks on the footers. ....so in BOTH scenarios you pay. So why people keep ragging on freehosts is beyond me. If used properly they can be an excellent tool for webmastering. |
