Part of their trade, isn't it??

Nikki_Licks 01-28-2011 09:15 AM

Crazy shit...can't be afraid of heights when doing that and I don't think I would sleep all night long.

JenniDahling 01-28-2011 09:18 AM

Dang, I don't think I'd even sleep in a sturdy hammock if it was too high up. That's pretty insane!

Do you think they do it up on those "beds"?

Redrob 01-28-2011 09:18 AM

Nice, just as long as not too windy.

djroof 01-28-2011 09:18 AM

wtf there???????/

LeRoy 01-28-2011 09:19 AM

That's insane!

The 1st pic... How did he carry that bed up there? Looks like he's gonna roll off lol

baddog 01-28-2011 09:19 AM

It is easier than climbing down every day and starting over.

Tom_PM 01-28-2011 09:19 AM

It's not that I'm afraid of heights, I'm just afraid of plummeting.

Phoenix 01-28-2011 09:20 AM

first one is fake for sure..lol

how the hell did they yank a whole boxspring and mattress up there

JFK 01-28-2011 11:14 AM

Ya, this would give a whole new meaning to "getting up on the wrong side of the bed".

1. you hit a "brick" wall.
2. plummet to your death.

or maybe roll over in your sleep and TIMBER! haha

Neither of them bother me, its the hitting the ground bit that scares me!

WarChild 01-28-2011 11:52 AM

Took up climbing seriously two years ago and absolutely love it. You really have to learn to trust in your gear and that comes pretty quick.

These days, with all the advances in gear and what not, you can do alot of big walls in a long day and not need to spend the night on a face.

One of the nice features of the Vancouver area is The Chief. It's the World's second largest free standing piece of Granite after El Cap. in Yosimite.

sexy-frenchie 01-28-2011 12:07 PM

I thought they were sleeping in base camp, but I guess there's no other way to get real fresh air at night.

WarChild 01-28-2011 02:08 PM

Oh FYI, one of the ropes leading from the anchor is connected to the climber's harness still. You can't "roll out of bed to your doom". :)

seeandsee 01-28-2011 02:15 PM

wow interesting never saw this

OY 01-28-2011 02:19 PM

Seems about right, except the first pic....

webair 01-28-2011 02:32 PM

Whenever you're climbing you're ALWAYS tied in. It's kind of a safety thing. :)

Unlimited 01-28-2011 02:43 PM

quiet 01-28-2011 03:36 PM

it's called a bivouac. and yes, the chief is a great wall. nice hike as well if you don't climb. killer views at the top.

Chosen 01-28-2011 04:52 PM

Looks comfortable :)

SomeCreep 01-28-2011 06:31 PM

That must be one long golden waterfall in the morning.

xenigo 01-28-2011 06:35 PM

A buddy of mine was telling me that when he camps like this on the face of a mountain he relaxes by smoking a joint. There's nothing in the world that would get me more paranoid than knowing I could quite easily fall to my death... WHILE being high at the same time.

Scott McD 01-28-2011 06:39 PM

It would be cool to push out a dump from up there!

woj 01-28-2011 09:06 PM

damn....

CaptainWolfy 01-29-2011 03:43 AM

Paul Markham 01-29-2011 03:53 AM
