PSW Billing suspend VISA ??

I have just heard that PSW Billing have suspended VISA for international clients, anyone know what the fuck is going on there ? Didn't PSW make a big deal about the fact that they could handle International accounts despite the VISA changes ?

Maybe someone from PSW can come on here and let us all know whats happening ?

Petr 01-17-2003 03:14 PM

this is the email PSW has just sent out:

---

Due to new Visa Regulations, Policies and Registration Issues
any website that is not registered under a USA Sponsored
Merchant will experience an interruption in Visa Service for
7 to 10 days starting Monday 1/20/2003.

This does not affect Mastercard, JCB or Online Check
transactions and all existing Visa Rebills will be processed
immediately when Visa service resumes thus none of your
recurring transactions will be lost.

Thanks for your understanding and support. We are working
closely with our aquiring banks and Visa to minimize the
effects.

NOTE: If the website listed above should be under an existing
USA Sponsored Merchant Account, please contact us.

Looks like someone had to switch banks in a hurry. Expect more of this.

Only 16 days into this year and they have been very very long days indeed.

polish_aristocrat 01-17-2003 03:22 PM

do you think that it could happen someday that both Visa and Mastercard stop accepting payments for pornsites at all ( like it happens with casino sites ) ?

Theo 01-17-2003 03:24 PM

Don't compare casinos with porn. There's a huge difference.

rowan 01-17-2003 03:24 PM

I just got this email too.

3 whole days notice of a 7-10 day interruption for 50%+ of my new signups.

I don't have a backup processor.

Fuck.

Theo 01-17-2003 03:24 PM

hey ! so u are processing for EU now?

corvette 01-17-2003 03:57 PM

I hate jumping into threads like this?but if anybody is looking for an immediate solution for Visa and they are located in a Visa EU region, we can process your initial Visa transactions until you get your normal billing back up. There is no setup fee and no Visa registration fee for EU clients. A list of Visa regions is located here, if you are located in one of the countries in the EU region, then you would be good to go.

If you are an EU client and need a temporary billing solution, check out ccbilleu.com. We will get you set up ASAP and you can drop off the processing once your normal Visa solution is back up.

BluMedia 01-17-2003 03:59 PM

Man that sucks, sorry to hear that for everyone processing with them. Time to use your backup processor.

PornoBug 01-17-2003 04:12 PM

Anyone got a nice billing solution for Australian webmasters or should we all give up and go to the beach ?

with sites like porn for a $ and then get charged $100 plus after 30 mins or something.

yes this will probably happen and then we would be fucked.

BluMedia 01-17-2003 04:17 PM

Well personally I think that will happen first to the webmasters who are fucking the customers over. But with the majority of greedy fuckers yeah I could see that happening.

no other industry would get away with shit like that and why should they...

Its like a clothes shop doing an offer on T-shirts... today only $1... if ur still wearing after 30 minutes then $100 + a month, but we told u it was in small print at the bottom of the page. Yes the text was i brown on a black background but sir it was there.

temp solution to the PSW problem....

J.R. 01-17-2003 04:26 PM

Luckily... we can switch processors and click of a switch.

If you cannot process, send the traffic to us. We can atleast
convert it for you if you want.

We use PSW as a backup, we will turn them off for
a few days until this problem is sorted.

Hope this helps!

Are you still offering bulletproof processing for spammers? You know, the ones that use other people's email accounts and such. Like kscans.com. I see they still have the ccbill logo thingey up.

"probably if shit keep up the way it does."

I dont get it. The industry is in better shape today then ever. Visa and soon enough MasterCard will have tabs on everybody. The government is going to get its Taxes and the crooks will be kicked out the door. If anything, your going to see more and more people trying to get into the internet porn and your going to see companys like epoch & ccbill finding more and more reasons for these billing companies to jump on board.

I dont know about you guys but Im excited about the future!

Corvette,

Can you hit me up on ICQ? 6080966
I use ccbill as backup..but don't have visa as part of my backup with CCBILL. Use psw as primary..and now need to scramble to cover this..looking for specifics on how I can get the temporary setup for visa for the time period pswbilling is not processing.

Thanks!
First Lancelot Security..then probilling..now THIS! ARRGH!

Masturbationman 01-17-2003 04:46 PM

If you want the best solution you need to call iBll. They even have the ability to do currency conversion now in 6 different curencies. They just got me up in less than 1 hour. Ask for Todd in sales.

OneHungLo 01-17-2003 04:49 PM

Anyone know when that CCbill dialer is gonna be ready? looks like a good alternative to checks.

BluMedia 01-17-2003 04:53 PM

Damn that sucks. Anyone need anything let me know and I will try my best to help you out. Also I know CCBill can usually set you up really quick or you can just route your traffic to a sponsor or something. You should always have a backup though.

You are kidding right?

HunkyLuke 01-17-2003 05:17 PM

F****K

first I got screwed when probilling started scrubbing like hell, so I switched to PSW, now this shit is going on. Colin says probilling is back to normal scrubbing and is not affected by this visa thing, anyone using probilling here? If yes are you back to normal rejection/scrub rates?

Please post, I am getting tired of having to switch my join page again and again.....

Question: Why is PSW affected with this reg. and why are jettis probilling etc not?

Masturbationman 01-17-2003 05:21 PM

I have been with the top three big billing companies for years and have never lost money really. Maybe everyone should stop tring to save a buck by switching to these new guys because in the long run you end up losing everything.

We're in Aus and we bill through Globill - they can set you up in a matter of hours.

UnseenWorld 01-17-2003 05:49 PM

Globill keeps chugging alone, still seemingly immune to any troubles from VISA or MC.

I've processed with Ibill since '98 and I can't really say anything bad about them. I try to spread my billing around a little so it isn't all in one place, but saving a buck or two now isn't worth NEARLY as much to me as processing with a company that I feel is stable for the long haul. Currently, Ibill, Epoch and CCBill still take top spots for me (and pretty much in that order, although Epoch may be squeezing ahead a bit now).

I'm sure some of the other billing companies will make names for themselves, but I'm not going to be one of the ones risking my ass to help them make their name.

Just my

:2 cents:

Two people who use a different Internet from everyone else and totally miss evertything that happens.

I LOVE the mentality of 'it has happened to me and although it happened to everyone else I'm safe'.

This thread gets funnier as it goes along. :1orglaugh

PornoBug 01-17-2003 05:58 PM

The Other Steve,

I have tried Glo-Bill and quite frankly I dont like them, their demand for logo space (especially with that ugly logo of theirs) is incompatible with my sites and desire to have multiple billing options for clients on the join page.

PSW are fine if they continue to accept VISA, if CCBill or Jettis take on Australian clients then I would like to hear from them.

schiz 01-17-2003 06:06 PM

If you use PSW Billing and fear that you're processing will cease, I may be able to help. I can help you stay with PSW, with no VISA (or MC) fees ever, as well as uninterrupted service. I should be able to have everything cleared up for you before the deadline.

Please shoot me an email ASAP if you're interested in securing your PSW account.

twistyneck, we have a procedures for dealing with accounts that are accused of spamming. It is not something that we take lightly. It is just not as simple as inactivating an account when somebody claims that they were spammed by them. We need to verify it, warn them, and if it continues, they have left us no choice but to take strict action.

Really soon, I think that it is a matter of days now before we announce it. We are in the final stages of implementation, training, documentation, etc.

Anyone who thinks they are "safe" should throw in the towel today. There is no such thing in this business, which is all the more reason to minimize your risks in every way that you can. You may think a young company offering competitive rates to attract new clients is the safe route, but I tend to think the established company with a large banking infrastructure behind it has a little more staying power if (or rather when) trouble hits. Of course, I could just be a dumb fuck.... :eek7
