Stupid Internet Question: Gods of Internet, please, enlight me!

Okay, as for billing per byte transferred, what is the reason for doing so?
Those bytes PHISUCALLY DO DAMAGE to wires so the more you send/receive more physical usage you cause to wires, am I wrong?

Wrap wires in tin foil.

Problem solved.

yes, bytes to great damage to the wires, especially if you try to push too many bytes at one time..

i have seen entire internet tubes ripped apart by too many bytes being pushed..

in my country, you must not push more than 3 KILO bytes at any given time...

i am very smart though, so i tie 2 internet wires together and so now i push 6 KILO bytes..

i am very popular in my neighborhood for internet intelligent thinkings....

It costs them in terms of a lot of things, like hiring more manpower, having and keeping better infrastructure, electricity costs etc.

If you only download pictures of kittens you will do less damage to the wires as they are made of soft fluffy bytes.
