iPhone 4 or Blackberry?
 

What do you prefer?

Whats the best for overall functionalities? Im leaning towards the iphone because I think it has momentum and therefore probably will gain on the apps and functionalities side but I admit im totally ignorant so tell me!

I've been reading for months. This is the phone right now. Some other great androids are coming out, but this is the one to beat atm.

Get the extended battery and remember not all usb car charges are built the same. 4.3" screen blows applee away and doesn't constantly push their own software on you like itunes. Go 4G Evo and don't look back!

The Samsung Galaxy S series blows the doors off of the EVO. I've had both and aside from a bigger screen and more megapixels in the main camera, the EVO can't touch the Samsung.

At this point, I'd wait a few more months if you can manage it. There are a lot of new phones coming out. Here's a good article from Gizmodo this morning:

Considering getting this one too. I've had pretty good experience with HTCs while iPhone 3G died in a year :(

IMO it's packed with features way better than iPhone 4 for its price. Plus last week I went to a few Apple repair services to see if anything can be done with the dead 3G and decided to ask around about iPhone 4, they suggested to stay away from it as it has too many issues and one of the major issues are falling off microphones.

I hate to break your hearts people, but this thread wasnt meant for people who cant afford an Iphone 4 or a Blackberry.

Hate to break it to you, but all the phones mentioned so far cost as much and more than it would cost to pick up an iPhone :winkwink:

They give away all the Blackberry phones for free too.

I have a BB Storm and while it is functional, I hate that running a few apps at the same time makes it choke and I am constantly doing battery pulls. Looking at getting the HTC ThunderBolt next month.

I have a blackberry and I want to smash it.

I am hoping the Samsung Galaxy S2 shows up in stores here in February, so I can get that.

Otherwise I am going with the iPhone 4.

I have the BB Torch and I love it. Can't really compare because my last phone was a LG flip lol. Look into the torch though. It's cool phone.

I agree. Either get an iPhone, or if you want, try out the Android system. I think it's probably going to improve even more over time and annihilate the iPhone 4.

using BB curve 8900 but im planning to buy Samsung Galaxy S ,user friendly and you can play fbgames...

I've had the Iphone 3GS for years and loved everything except that it didnt work well as a phone (ATT reception). Tried moving to BB torch but didnt like it - just went back and got the 4 and happy with it.

Out of Iphone4 and Blackberry, I would go with Iphone4. But personally if I had a choice (and I do) I would go with the HTC Desire (or EVO in the USA).

Had one Blackberry or another for the past 7 years....straight. Before it was cool to have a one (or a smartphone for that matter). Back when people used to say to me "how can you hold that laptop up to your ear (Blackberry 7510 - a fucking tank)". I ended my love affair with RIM after I went through my 3rd 9800 Bold 2. I could only pull the battery so many times. :mad:

I moved on to an iPhone 4. I will never look back. Fuck you RIM. I thought you had it figured out with the Bold 9000 but it seems like you've been going backwards since.

Meh, the EVO feels like a big plastic turd. 4.3inch screen, with absolutely horrible resolution.

It's not even close.

Then comes the battery life, the iPhone offers double the battery life.

Then there is Sprint's supposed "4G", that barely even equates to AT&Ts or Verizons 3G if it's even available.

As for apps, yes the Android is more open source, but that's because Apple has 1000X more stringent quality control over apps allowed to be run by their customers. There are positives and negatives to have anyone offer anything with no oversight whatsoever.

If you want an android wait for the next generation of Androids with 2.3 gingerbread and much higher resolution super AMOLED screens.

Every phone mentioned so far fits into one of two categories ..

If you NEED/WANT a secure email device (that happens to make phone calls, play mp3s and videos, and text as a bonus), then you have only one choice on the market - which is a Blackberry. Blackberrys also have proprietary data compression that consistently uses about 60% of the data transfer that other phones do ... (which may be a consideration if you are paying per MB of transfer, and send receive large quantities of rich media)

If you do not need that kind of functionality, then any of the other phones mentioned will do the job ... its just a matter of personal tastes and preferences.

BTW ... I am a happy Blackberry Curve 3G user. :thumbsup

i'm still yet to see what a BB can do that an Iphone can't but on a bigger screen?

Send/receive email SECURELY ... and compress data to approximately 60% of other devices ... If these are not considerations for you, then you do not need a Blackberry ..

Don't take my word for it though .... try taking any other phone other than a BB and have your corporate IT director sync it with the mail servers ... :)

Of course an iPhone has a larger, brighter, higher resolution screen ... its main purpose is to sell you iTunes movies, videos, and MP3s.
