slayer - dead skin mask
i have had even totally non-metal friends get addicted to the hypnotic sounds in it .. awesome |
You could also listen to Judas Priest and Black Sabbath.
|
oh yeah: Judas Priest - One Shot At Glory
Definitely in the top 10 of all metal songs ever to exist on earth, metal as in the religion |
Chimaira
Lamb of God Trivium Behemoth As I Lay Dying Dimmu Borgir Megadeth Metal Church Slipknot |

Megadeath for sure they are added. And essential is a lame name for this, your right. Maybe epic songs like I would say peace sells and Symphony of Destruction. Added both. Never liked Venom but respect for sure. Dio is a little old for me but used to love them. Maybe mid 80's and up. Quote:

Rammstein - Du Hast

Venom fucking owns. Can't go wrong with a little Judas Priest in the mix. What you've listed seems like you're into thrash. Get some Suicidal Tendencies, Dayglo Abortions (Here Today, Guano Tomorrow would be a good album for you). Annihilator, Anvil, Kreator, Meshuggah, Acid Drinkers, Cryptic Slaughter, Atrophy, Nuclear Assault, Municipal Waste. Definitely get all the Gwar you can take. Ummm, Vio-lence, Verbal Abuse, S.O.D. I dunno, start with that... |

Your going a little too far back, even though those bands are awesome I like how amps and drums have advanced in the 80's and prefer that sound. Too bad, I wish they had that equipment available in the 70's I would be all over it. And the 80's ones where kind of cheap on the equipment too, I saw most of those bands in concert and there equipment was good but I prefer the high end sound for metal. Suicidal is in there now. Read your follow up, Pantera! how can I miss them. Added. |

Don't forget Motorhead!
|
A ton of stuff by Anthrax and Napalm Death come to mind. And of course Motörhead, specifically Ace of Spades is high on the list for me.
|
Ronnie James Dio
Danzig AC/DC |
I'll add some songs from the Stoner/Doom metal genre....
|
|
I could post all the day and night and I would list even the half of great metal songs I know. |
|
Black Sabbath or Ozzie? Anyone mention yet? Ac/Dc? Motley Crue...Guns n Roses?

Opeth.. Reverie/Harlequin Forest, Ghost of Perdition, The Funeral Portrait are my favorites of theirs. They sound as amazing live as they do recorded, maybe even better.
I agree on Black Sabbath, although over-time, I've grown more fond of Sabbath with Dio than Ozzy. Paranoid is still the best album, overall, though. |
|
Old Ozzy
Dio Black Sabbath (Dio days) Judas Priest (Srceaming for vengance album) Van Halen (First 4 albums) and of course Iron Maiden Those would make my list. But i've found this. Hope it helps. http://www.i80s.com/80s-heavy-metal |
