CCBill Join Form button popup
 

There may be a thread about this, but I could not find it.
On the ccbill join forms, a button pops up as soon as you enter a credit card number:

"Complete this purchase and continue shopping at ccbill.com"

CCbill support says it's required by MasterCard, it's part of a policy they are requiring ccbill to do. (quote)

sounds like bullshit to me. probably they are required to have the word ccbill.com somewhere on the page not on a popup.

I could see that scaring away customers.

Does it work with popup blockers? If not, it's killing sales big time.

Welcome to 2003. It's been there for many years and IS required by Mastercard.

If it's really a policy mastercard is now requiring perhaps allowing the pre-checked cross sales was a mistake? I've been noticing ccbill is getting less and less friendly to affiliates. Maybe it's time to look at Verotel again? 30 day default cookies vs 3 days. All my ACH deposits come on time. I don't think they integrated the cross sale bullshit either without providing any possible way to credit affiliates. It seems as if it gets worse and worse. Let's see what they say.

This is a Mastercard requirement and has been implemented for many years now on our join pages. It is not a popup but simply a button that appears when the consumer inputs a Mastercard credit card number.

So MasterCard requires you to send people from my site's join form to your site to make additional purchases?
I would like to see the exact wording of that requirement.

"must have button when consumer enters number"

or is it more along the lines of "biller must be clearly visible to account holder"

i don't doubt that there is some requirement , but let's be frank , you choose how to implement it correct ?

Why on earth would that second button be "A MasterCard Requirement" ?

seems silly mastercard would require a misleading button to be added , the customer was being billed at ccbill , they were shopping on another site, the wording says " continue shopping at ccbill.com " , the customer wasn't shopping at ccbill so as a customer i would be confused.

Sounds like more fucking bullshit. I would love to hear the "legal logic" behind the "requirement" for such a dumbass button.

It doesn't add up.

If a customer clicks on the button the transaction is processed and they are taken to the search and shop system at ccbill.com. So it is just as if a customer submitted a transaction from your site and then went browsing elsewhere.

This is certainly nothing new and if you check a Segpay or Epoch form you should see the same functionality.

Well, I guess it's still better than Visa's bullshit need to get $750 upfront and then another $500 each year thereafter, for no reason whatsoever.

When did you start doing this? And it might be an issue to some because I presume people aren't getting credit if someone decides to join one of these other services.

exactly what the site owner does not want them to do.. this would be like buying artwork and your biller suggests other art galleries to your customers, i dont get the correlation between this and mc requirements ?

what is the requirement ? i don't get how this helps mc customers or mc in any way whatsoever ?
