American breakfast

Each movie i watch, every series i stick to in America, they have always one set for the breakfast. Cereals, Milk, Orange Juice / Mocha Coffee. Is that traditional or it's lazyness and lack of knowledge about food preparing?

How about french toasts, ham and eggs ?

Show me, what do you haev for breakfast usually.

CYF 01-12-2011 05:40 PM

oatmeal, cereal, bagels, english muffins, waffles, eggs, bacon, ham, it all depends on the day and what I feel like having. Half the time I don't even eat breakfast.

Weekdays I tend to make myself a little egg sandwhich, usually throwing in some diced veggies.

Weekends it's pankcakes and muffins with bacon!

spazlabz 01-12-2011 06:23 PM

it depends on the day if it is a sunday and everyone is home it is a big breakfast of bacon and eggs usually a western omelet, some buttered toast and milk

most days though it is cereal or nothing for me.. mostly nothing until about noon :)

potter 01-12-2011 06:24 PM

I had half a pork chop with some yellow rice.

CanadianWebDesigner 01-12-2011 06:40 PM

Phoenix 01-12-2011 07:01 PM

during the week, i have an egg sandwich
sometimes cereal.

on the weekends, well just Saturdays i go to a local breakfast place...all local food...local eggs, local sausage, etc etc...even the cream for the coffee is local
way better then Denny's by a long shot

tony286 01-12-2011 10:21 PM

Steel cut oatmeal with pumpkin, splenda and nutmeg

ShellyCrash 01-12-2011 10:33 PM

I'm trying to get back out of the habbit of skipping breakfast. Most mornings I eat red grapefruit and coffee.

I make a pretty bitchin french toast but I only make it once in a blue moon. I make it out of media noche bread which is like a softer, slightly sweeter cuban sandwich bread. It might be hard to find, but if you live anywhere with a cuban community, if you can find it it's way worth it.

Also make decent pancakes and sometimes I'll make breakfast sandwiches w/ parmesan scrambled eggs, sometimes with morningstar maple sausage patties and a slice of white american cheese or with a slice of tomato, fresh spinach and chipotle mayo- both on a english muffin. That's like weekends for us though, never eat heavy mornings on weekdays.

Also one sunday a month I go to Freida's bakery and get fresh pastries for my weekend crew. It's like an hour round trip but totally worth it.

I almost never eat breakfast, but on the off time I do, it's basically always this:

http://www.thai-blogs.com/media/blog...s/IMG_5109.jpg

Called "jop", or "johk", or something. Rice porridge with beef, egg, syrup, sugar, etc. It ranges from horrid shit you wouldn't feed your dog to absolutely delicious, all depending where you get it.

icymelon 01-12-2011 11:01 PM

cold pizza is breakfast of campions

CPA37710T 01-12-2011 11:09 PM

chaze 01-12-2011 11:58 PM

oatmeal is the best, but eggs and cereal are good if you get bored or are in a hurry.

quiet 01-13-2011 12:53 AM

my mornings consist of nothing but fresh fruit and green tea. except once a week, i'll have pancakes.

justfreemovies 01-13-2011 01:07 AM

Sarah_Jayne 01-13-2011 05:33 AM

Growing up it was cereal and juice on the weekdays and something cooked on weekends. These days, I have some sort of oats most days.

CaptainHowdy 01-13-2011 05:38 AM

American breakfast it's as badass as their American Jesus...

ottopottomouse 01-13-2011 06:49 AM

Sugary cereal. Sausages, bacon, eggs, beans, fried bread. Orange juice.

2MuchMark 01-13-2011 06:54 AM

I don't know if its a Canadian thing or not, but I'm always shocked whenever I go out for breakfast in the US. I see so many people easting STEAK for breakfast.

http://www.castironcookingblog.com/w...k-and-Eggs.jpg

I don't know how some people can eat all this food. For me, a "big" breakfast is bacon and eggs. After that I feel so fat and full that all I want to do is go back to bed.

http://ratemyarms.com/wp-content/upl...it-yogurt.jpeg

What I think makes a really good breakfast is cereal, yogurt and fruit, juice, coffee. I know it sounds alot less satisfying but for me it fills me up and energized for the morning.

thickcash_amo 01-13-2011 07:04 AM

I love eggs for breakfast. I dont like to eat a lot of carbs and eggs always keep much more full than any cereal or oats

CurrentlySober 01-13-2011 07:05 AM
