Alternatives to Arylia & Gallery Deamon?
 

are there any alternatives to those scripts out there?

Nothing that I am aware of that preforms in a manner anything close to what those two do.

I often wish that I could combine those two scripts. It would be nearly ideal.

doesn't seem like a complex project for a half decent programmer, or am I wrong?

i like arylia the best, but GD is good as well.

gallerydaemon as far I know hasn't been updated in 2+ years and a couple of bug fixes would be very welcome (don't think the new owner ever updated the script)

mind you it works, but it would be great to have a new version come out

arylia is great. if you have wp blogs robogallery has been working out well.

I'd gladly pay to upgrade for a version that incorporated some of my wish list items for this script. It would be well worth it.

Well, I am not a half decent programmer, so I really can't speak to the complexity of it. I don't know whether the market for it isn't there to justify the time, or if it is just something that is very involved.

You'd think that JMB would have one, as he develops solid (imho) products.

I developing scrapper script and i already have working version for scrapping pics and vids,but i need to do some bugfixes before releasing it to public.

Uugallery for wp and misc free scripts for galleries can be found. I dont know of anything as good as either GD or arylia though

Sorry, I have to bump this, because that would be perfect if someone updated these scripts... or even just made some "addon" scripts.

I bump it too, I have arylia and it still works but it would be nice to have script upgrade.

There is no developer on the market to make a script that works correctly and updates regularly?

Nobody wants to sell the script that everyone asks?

No developer wants to make money?

Developers that stick around to provide updates and support are few and far between in this industry. It's pretty common for programers to build a nice product then disappear or sell it off, after they get the initial money grab. It's much easier to develop something than to stick around and give support for it.

If only I could count all the trade scripts , TGP management scripts.. ect..ect on 2 hands that I've owned that became useless due to developers disappearing or losing interest.
