Season's Greetings & Happy New Year!

We're planning to launch a new website soon and need a designer to bring our vision to life for a website. We have already hired a designer before and wasted money on "his" vision despite having been clear about what we want to see.

We're on a shoestring budget so you'll have to be priced reasonably and bring lots of value to the table. Check out the website address on my signature below to see a mock-up of what I want you to create.

Create a home page and show it to me for consideration. I won't hire anyone before I see a sample of their work as it applies to my vision.

Yes, I know the mock-up is simple...but that's what I need you for! We've lined up our legal, lined up the credit card processing, etc. We just need a nice site in our colors and in our vision.

The content and idea are nice, although the site looks pretty bad now. But, please, don't transform it into a glossy solo girl site like the other thousands out-there :)

Thanks for the compliment on the content. The "site" you see is just a placeholder pending the creation of the design by a pro. This is why we're seeking a designer. You touched upon an important issue when you asked that we not create a super glossy cookie-cutter site. We're trying to avoid doing this and welcome anyone's professional advice on achieving an amateur look while still having a professionally done site.

I'd love to help, but I'm currently booked for weeks :)
Hope you'll find someone to keep the personal / amateur look yet make the site look clean and nice. These kind of sites are RARE and convert like crazy :)

why is it that all the booked designers always seem to have time to post on message boards saying they're booked for months :1orglaugh

Thanks for all the replies. I'm still deciding and welcome your ideas. It would make things easier if you could send links to individual solo girl designs you've done. It's taking a long time to sift through so many libraries.

In a nutshell, I need a solo girl site that has an amateur look without a cartoonish or high gloss look. Email your samples to me and I'll give you my phone number so that we can get this done faster!
