Getting Started...

Can someone shed some light on what I need to do to get started? I have a basic understanding of how everything works etc., but I need to know where to start...i.e., hosting?, content?, advertising?

I know it might sound ignorant, but I just need to know all the details and how to get this thing going! If anybody can help, that would be great! Thanks!

First, you need to decide what it is you want to do. Do you want to run a pay site, publish galleries, start a content providing business, a hosting business, a graphic design business. How can we even respond without at least know what you want to do?

An original idea is a good place to start...

Get a domain name

Get some content

Build a site

Host your site

get a CC processor

market your site

Hope that helps
:2 cents:

Hey Slapass....who created your site and where did you get all of the content? How much does it cost you each month for hosting etc..? Also, what kind of money do you make?

Thanks...

Like mrthumbs said, http://www.newbiewebmasters.com sounds like a good place for yea - you'll find some people there who are always willing and able to help you out.

Whatever you do don't talk about extreme fetish (rap) sites cause they'll ban your ass like they did mine! :feels-hot

I'm not making thousands of dollars friends so maybe your no interested in hearing what I've got to say but I'll share what I did to get where I am today.

I started out with a free adult host - got a few good sponsors and added as much free content as I could to the site.
The site was no big deal but it did look pretty good and it did have allot of content so people bookmarked it and I eventually I started to make a few bucks.

Once I was making enough money to pay for a private domain/host I signed up. By then I had learned a few things and was ready to be token seriously.

One of the first thing I learned about making money in this buss is to work with the three c's. Sounds corny but it works.

- Content
- Community
- Continuity

If you can work with those you'll make it.

Regards
NastyJack

Holein00

I started about 5 months ago. This is the first month I will make real money. And like half the people here, it did not come from my site. The bad news is good ideas are very hard to come by. Ok at least for me. So most of them I cannot share as I already have all the competition I can stand.
But I think my advice is valid and cool that others agree.

:winkwink:
