make outlook express 6 open links in new window

How do you make outlook express 6 open links in new window, instead of it the same window as the last link you opened?

I love to use older browsers. I love to have a right click easy to use 'Open in new window' and many other things older browser have.

HQ 01-22-2003 02:45 PM

New browsers do that too. You can also hold down shift and click. However, I am talking about Outlook Express here!

drfet 01-22-2003 09:03 PM

I just checked on 3 PC's and the shift trick is working just fine.
Maybe one of your shift buttons are broken ? :Graucho

Microsoft Outlook Express 5.01 for Windows 98
Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0 for Windows 98
Microsoft Outlook Express 5.01 for Windows 95
Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0 for Windows 95
Microsoft Outlook Express 5.5 for Windows 2000

No version 6. :(

HQ 02-20-2003 08:44 PM

My bad, it works for v6 too.

HQ 02-05-2004 11:12 AM

(I know this thread is old, but I just ran into the same problem today on a Win XP Home maching. FYI, the above fix worked.)

Just curious...

In step 6 it says:

"In the Editing action for type: URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol window, click to clear the Use DDE check box, and then click OK."

Why is DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) necessary to begin with?
