What will 2011 bring? Predictions?

It's my belief that 2011 will bring many changes to our industry.

Anyone have any predicitons?

tammix 12-31-2010 01:33 PM

There will be more highly advanced technologies. These technologies were not available and affordable in the past.

Lots of affiliates leaving adult and programs closing. Shift to dating and cams but it won't be the same amount of money in the past. Many larger players will not be able to adapt to less revenue and will fold. The scumbag behavior will at least double in frequency. This forum will have half the real unique visitors one year from now as it has now. If it's even still around. Lots of consolidation in the industry.

The people who will survive are in two opposite camps. One is the very large players able to adapt to the new environment. These include the people with the large tubes, cams, dating and other programs who made sure their business is sustainable for the next year. This also includes those with a very large supporting base and network of people to support them. The other is the smaller guys with very little overhead who could still be profitable and operate at 50% revenue if need be. These people are focusing on a certain area and remaining stable through the problems the industry will face ahead. One major processor, sponsor, partner, etc folding will not take these people out.

the shakeup has already happened. 2011 will be a year of rebuilding for those who are left.

More programs will close in 2011 and in 2012 even more will close and in 2013+ there won't be any left other than the major players and a few small niche programs.

See 2009 and 2010 for a glimpse of what will happen in 2011. It will just continue.

The surfer will increasingly learn free is better than paid and increasingly get harder to convert. Tube traffic will grow and will become worse to convert.

A few larger companies and affiliates will pick up the slack left by those going out of the business but it will not make up for the loss of business over all. Not much because if these people had much they wouldn't be leaving.

Dating sites might provide an income for some but the vast majority will see it as not for them or learn most of the paid ones are a con. Some enterprising lawyer might realise these guys are a cash cow and start milking them for misleading advertising and emailing. There was a thread a few days ago about someone suing sites for sending lying spam.

Web sites will again appeal to a minority, as more affiliates go to this option the sales for individuals might fall. Unless people dropping out of the business make a difference. But not much, as said before.

The business model of throwing as much traffic at sites selling what Tubes give away for free will continue.

Piracy will get worse.

Other than that. I'm now able to fly as I'm off the bottle food, will be getting a dog in April, probably a boxer, and Eva will keep moaning at me because she's bored with being a housewife. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

So for me a pretty good 2011. :thumbsup

Did you notice none of the "More bucks" crew have given any clue where it's coming from? Waiting for some clown to tell us he's putting up a lot of new sites. That will be exactly the same as sites already up. LOL

More consumer protection action from agencies. Not new laws but new regs.

GARY LEE 01-01-2011 10:58 PM

I think the government will interfere with our business more and more. I also see more companies dropping out because of this bureaucratic red tape along with the obvious problem of not enough income. For myself I wasn't in the porn business in the "good old days" that the old timers keep talking about so I haven't seen my numbers drop. Since my numbers started with a 0 six years ago when I started then I have nowhere to go but up. In the 80's and 90's which you guys all talk about fondly I was in the video game business. Now that is an industry who's numbers have really dropped so just be glad your in the business that you are.
I wish you good luck and big bucks for all of you in 2011!

I agree, however we shouldn't fear tube sites rather we should use them to our advantage. Tube sites are here to stay just like music sharing sites. I hope that new niches will develop and I'm always amazed at the new niches I never knew existed for example: ass to mouth cum eating...go figure.
