Email in queue for 7 years.
I signed up for cheatcodes.com a long time ago, 2003 to be specific. Basically a forum for games. I had long forgotton that I signed up for the website.
Today, 7 years later. I get the confirmation email. "Thanks for signing up blah blah - Please confirm by clicking this link etc etc". Headers show the email was in fact sent June 15'th 2003. I'm sure if I was to dig down, I would find this was an administrator flushing a queue, or sending out emails to generate new interest in his site or whatever. But there is a part that wonders if it really was floating in limbo for 7 years. |
it's some kind of super mistery :)

Maybe they resent verification messages manually.

He he, I got caught out with that recently when developing an app. My test box email queue was disabled, but someone reactivated it and it sent out a few dozen emails from a few years back .... doh

I'm sure someone clicked on a button and sent an email to everyone who signed up to the board, but never verified their account, that's all. Basically they are trolling.
