how many paysites (adult) will close/shut in 2011?

how many paysites (adult) will close/shut in 2011?

as the owners have 'decided' to do somthing else (and not sell as the sites no longer bring in customers of course).

the more - the better...

Chosen 12-28-2010 08:56 PM

I've no idea...

Trend 12-28-2010 11:43 PM

IMO... sites.. not many .. programs... quite a few.

icymelon 12-29-2010 12:14 AM

probably 1/100 of the amount of new ones that will be launched.

Forkbeard 12-29-2010 12:29 AM

Not as many as the number that will silently start rolling ancient content through with new dates on it, hoping nobody will notice.

Toni 12-29-2010 12:56 AM

We will release a lot of new sites :winkwink:

The Ghost 12-29-2010 01:04 AM

We'll be launching at least 1 new exclusive site next year. And continuing production on the rest :)

NinjaSteve 12-29-2010 01:44 AM

It doesn't make sense that sponsors close or stop paying affiliates. They should sell their program to somebody else.

Paul Markham 12-29-2010 03:28 AM

The number of sites has nothing to do with the number of customers.

A better question is how many new Tube sites will open convincing how many customers free is better than paid.

CunningStunt 12-29-2010 03:49 AM

I think Camembert will make a resurgence.

jerryb 12-29-2010 03:57 AM

More than anyone want to imagine.

Lots of them will close.

And, not too many new ones will open.

Sad, but true ... read this on December 29, 2011

Davy 12-29-2010 04:05 AM

Maybe some more will close to new affiliates. Which is not a bad thing.

Many will close their affiliate programs because they need to steal rebills to survive and can no longer afford to pay what they owe affiliates. (IOW, they don't know how to run a business)

Others will close because it's no longer easy money nor are there any illusions of getting rich quick. These are the ones who see others closing so they decide to do so too.

Many more will just sell their programs to others who will usually screw affiliates in some way. The smaller guys with CCBill programs and little volume will just shut down.

From an affiliate perspective the biggest problem won't be conversions (mine are fine) but as it was in 2010 it will be all the problems with sponsors folding, not paying, and stealing and cheating affiliates to survive (and you can count on it getting worse). If you're smart you'll pay a lot of attention to who you promote and assess the likelihood of them staying honest and surviving through the next year. Minimizing your risk will save you headaches later on.

We've drummed up a business plan to push out into lots more niches and develop our affiliate program on the back of WWW doing so well for us in 2010.

Keep your eyes peeled!

GregE 12-29-2010 07:55 AM

For us it's like this...
  1. Ours is a sub niche of a niche and our customers are extremely loyal.
  2. Producing this stuff is just too much fun to ever consider stopping.

We're not going anywhere :)

i think that will stop, all programs on end died this yr :)

digitaldivas 12-29-2010 08:13 AM

i think site closures with outweigh site openings

magicmike 12-29-2010 10:52 AM

www.nichewealth.com is continuing to launch new sites, and continues to grow our existing sites. If your not an affiliate yet, what are you waiting for?

96ukssob 12-29-2010 11:03 AM

my :2 cents:

we'll see a lot of the smaller programs close up shop shortly after the new year. around March/April it will slow down and then again towards the end of the year, more smaller programs shutting their doors

Agent 488 12-29-2010 11:08 AM

plenty have stopped updating already. the only ones that will close are those with a significant overhead.

Yes, I expect an absolute blood bath for smaller paysites handling their own payouts in 2011. Worse than 2010. The CCBill programs and such not so much as long as they have a reasonable volume but the Visa fee will continue to get many of the smaller ones.

TheDA 12-29-2010 11:16 AM

How many closed in 2010?

it wont be smaller one or two man operations that will shut down. they will just keep the site open and recycle content. it costs little to do so.

look who closed the last couple years. medium and large operations with plenty of outgoing costs.

Agreed there as well. The big guys often hemorrhage money and the owners don't know how to keep profitable in a downturn. All they know of business is operating in the growth phase. They don't know what to do and will grasp at straws.

Smart efficient programs ran by people with business sense and without the illusions of being "Mr. Bigshot" (ego driven) will be the ones to survive. :2 cents:
