anodized aluminum dog tags

Know any place that sells them individually? Etched.

BJ 12-27-2010 08:44 PM

In chicago at least, Petsmart or the other pet chains have the vending machines for that, Wal Mart too I think.

Petsmart has them in every store I think. They're like 6 bucks and you can get whatever you want printed on them.

Well, I am relatively confident Walmart does not use anodized aluminum, at least not in the machines I have used. I have used theirs and it really doesn't cut it.

I have tried other pet stores, I will call Petsmart in the morning.

ottopottomouse 12-28-2010 05:20 AM

Bit random but have you tried a trophy shop that does engraving.

Sometimes trophy shops or Vets handle these items or have access to it......you may want to check a couple of them out in your area....good luck!

Those are "cute" but I want to add about three phone numbers. Any idea if they will customize them or not?

The independently owned pet store that I go to here does them. Maybe try some in your area?

Anodized aluminum? I don't want painted, which is what every place I have found so far has. Maybe it would be easier for me to call your place and have them mail it to me. :1orglaugh

I just called them to make sure and the gal that answered the phone didn't know. I have to run up later today for cat food. I will check them out and let you know.

Hey Baddog, does Buddy have a mirco chip as well? Just curious..

~Ray 12-28-2010 03:52 PM

I can almost bet most local animal hospitals resell those next to their high end dog/cat food display. Do you remember seeing them?

No, I have heard mixed responses as far as the benefits of them. Besides, if I have all my phone numbers around his neck they can call me easier than finding a vet that has a reader.

Its there in the space where the license no would go .
But not a good sign if you cant notice it. How would the person who found your dog.

It is not anodized aluminum but I went to the local tack store and got a brass engraved tag that is riveted onto the color.

I really want to be able to put in 4 phone numbers, and there is a reason. And you are right, that other stuff just gets in the way.

Most PETCO stores have a Quick Tag machine that will create a custom engraved tag at an affordable price, while you wait.

famous 12-28-2010 10:23 PM

and fyi anodized will still rub off if something rubs against it :) Anodized are by far the weakest tag you can by at least for your pets. Stainless holds up better but are harder to read since the engraving is the same color as the tag. Sublimation tags are the best all around tag. Full color designs and engraveable aluminum of the back. We have lots of pets hehe so we have used them all

Bird 12-29-2010 02:45 AM

walmart and every just about every pet store has a DIY tag machine.

That's wild I have a similar story, my dog heard fireworks and all so took off. My friend who lived in the next complex had watched her for a weekend so she ran there unfortunately she went one building over form my friend and had the cops called on her. I was driving around looking for her when I ran into the cop's who asked me if she was my dog. She's a mixed up pup but mostly boxer.
