    6th January Las Vegas

    Hey,

    can someone tell me what is so special about 6th January in Las Vegas that no good hotel has any rooms available? 1st-5th is fine, 7th till the end of the month is fine, 6th is booked solid all over the strip hotels...

      believe it's the weekend, plus it's one of the biggest Vegas conventions, the Electronics convention, is in town followed by the 3 adult conventions. And everybody who comes is here on a company dime and want to stay in one of only three 5-star hotels.

      BTW, I'm staying at the Venician becaue Encore/Wynn was so bad at customer service I had to cancel.

              I know all that, but why just the 6th then?! Why not 6th till 9th or so? The 6th is also a thursday, the weekend is no problem at all to get rooms for.

                  Because they know you will pay rather than move mid-week.

                      The 6th and 7th are the 'days in common" for all the shows. The same reason why the 7th is 3 times the price of all others of the show

                              Really? Hmmm, we planned on checking out the Encore the next time we made a visit. Might have to consider my options again...

                                  Wynn/Encore aren't that great service if you're not a high roller or VIP... IMO Venetian/Palazzo have the best customer service.

                                      Family run hotel, only one on the strip. The rest of the hotels/casinos hate the Venetian because of this. The Venetian treats their employees different and better than any of the corporate owned casinos. They are written about in hotel management books all the time.
