Quote of the day: The definition of insanity....

Great quote U-Bob. I watched the movie "Wall Street" last night and I believe I heard that quote in the movie too.

ive always had a problem with that quote.
something about it seems untrue.

for example, there's a swimming pool in my apartments.
if i walk up to that pool and drop a brick in, it sinks under the surface of the water, but if i do this over and over again, eventually a brick i drop will not, as the pool is full of bricks now.

i am not insane for assuming this.

Everything you drop a brick, the brick falls down. The fact that you dropped the last brick in a pool filled with bricks, did not change the fact that even the last brick fell down as well.

Dropping bricks and expecting one of them to fly away = insane.
Dropping bricks on different surfaces (a pool filled with bricks is not the same a pool filled with only water) is not repeating the same time over and over.

You'll not be doing the same thing, since the pool will be full with bricks.

Only a mentally ill person would think of start throwing bricks on a pool...

if there is a very slim chance that a result may change, you might do the same thing over and over with the same results, yet keep on trying expecting different results

if there is a 1 in 10,000 chance of winning a lottery jackpot, and you keep on playing every week an keep losing, but you keep trying and hoping for and expecting a positive result, you might just get rewarded some day for your persistence :2 cents:

the new definition of insanity is trying to define insanity. :2 cents:

In the big picture the end result is still the same. The outcome only differs for you as an individual.

I've told 2 of my ex girlfriends that and it does not do any good...

Eating healthy. Exercising....

It takes 28 days of doing the same thing over and over again to make a positive change.

I guess webmasters are insane.

You send one unique to a sponsor and don't make a sale, so you keep sending uniques hoping eventually you'll make one.

Crazy fuckers.

The adult Internet proves the quote is wrong.

Year after year of doing the same thing and nothing has changed, all is working fine. :1orglaugh
