Do you guys tell your friends/family what you do?? or keep it a secret??

Personally... I love telling people i work with porn.... apart from my grandma!

I don't mind in the least. They don't seem to either after I show them a check. Muah ha ha ha

they found out that i was thinking about getting into the biz.....when in fact i was already underway with content production and site layout.......
didnt sit too well with them.....relatives found out.....my stepdad joked about it with my cousin.....my cousin told my brother and sister and 2 guests......stepdad freaked and told me my plans had to change or i had to leave.
pretty fucked up.....
but, i wasnt going to quit for him or anyone else.

i would have had alot easier of a time getting started if i stayed where i didnt have bills.....but im content with the fact that ive stuck to my plans and am following through with things for once in my life.

i secretly get up late at night to use the computer in the living room. my step-dad would kill me if he knew.. also the parental-lock is a bitch.

After all the years, everyone knows. I do not care myself. I of course do lots of mainstream stuff as well, which can be interesting at times.

You know what though, fuck em if they have an issue. It is your life.

I would suggest that to any up and coming young webmasters. Just tell your family and friends, it's much less grief than them finding out later you've been lying for years.

Pretty much everyone i i know, friends, family, know what i do. Hell, i was at a mate's place and he introduced me to a family friend (some woman, 40+ years old)..

One time I was chatting with some people I didn't know at a party, and the subject came up. When I told them I build porn sites they actually stopped talking to me and got up and walked away. Fuck 'em.

I think honest relationships with family and friends are important, so I'm always amazed at the thought that some people are doing something they don't want to admit doing to their friends and relatives.

i told my mom, girlfriend and a few of my friends. my mom flipped out and starting complaing about me finishing college but has now finally realized i'm not changing my mind anytime soon. my gf on the other hand doesnt want me producing any content. my friends are just like "how can we help"

I am lucky that the three friends I've told reacted positively.. I just don't tell everyone, many people have a bad idea about the online adult world.

I gotta admit I chocked on the words when I would tell someone for the first few months after I started. However, I feel totally at ease about telling people when they ask as I have learned over the months that we are all just business people who are for the most part as ethical and professional as any other industry I have been in.

I spent a weekend with Lightspeed for my job interview in Phoenix. When I returned to California, I told my mother I had accepted the job and was moving to Arizona. The first words out of my mother's mouth was "It's not a job in porn, is it?".

My friends all think it's cool. Wow - In the morning I'll get to watch four lesbians go at it. Sounds cool. It's over rated. With six people in one room & hot lights, well, it's not fun. And it's not like I get to watch or anything; I'm busy watching all of the action through a video camera. Not much fun at all. I guess it just gets old after a while.

Everyone on my moms side of the family knows, as well as my parents. My grandma and grampa kept telling me how my cousin from out of town who is female was making up to $1000 a night with porn sites. They were intrigued by it.

My mum's recent visit was interesting. She was trying to offer a female point of view on my designs as I was working.

Way too surreal. She couldn't care less what I do as long as it's legal and I'm happy.
