I agree that affirmative action was a stupid way to handle a much larger issue.

What I don't agree with is the feelings that most people living in California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas have towards Mexicans.

Yes, I think that if you are gonna stay here you better learn English and learn it well. That's a fact. On the other side of the coin you have to remember that those parts of the country were fully Mexican and Native American. How can you get mad at someone for being on their homeland? How can you be amazed at the fact that there are so many of them down there now when in your great grandparents day there were land owners.

Keep things in perspective people.

Still, if you are anywhere above Texas and you can't speak english you need to get the fuck out after your visa runs out. I love Puerto Rico but you won't see me trying to move down there without learning Spanish. Same thing applies to them. Common courtesy.

Oh for Christs sake this is the US, everyone should speak at least ebonics, if not full blown English.

If I go to Mexico I do not expect them to speak English to me, if I go to France, Germany or Jupiter I do not expect them to speak it to me.

Were I to move to any of those countries I would not expect them to make a new law just for little ole me.
