Traffic Stop In Texas
 

A Texan cruises thru a stop sign, and gets pulled over by a local policeman. Guy hands the cop his Texas driver's license, insurance verification, plus his concealed carry permit.

"Okay, Mr. Smith," the cop says, "I see your CCW permit. Are you carryin today?"

"Yes, I am."

"Well then, better tell me what you got."

Smith says, "Well, I got a .357 revolver in my inside coat pocket. There's a 9mm semi-auto in the glove box. And, I've got a .22 magnum Derringer in my right boot."

"Okay," the cop says. "Anything else?"

"Yeah, back in the trunk, there's an AR15 and a shotgun. That's about it."

"Mr. Smith, are you on your way to or from a gun range...?"

"Nope."

"Well then, what are you afraid of...?"

"Not a damn thing..."

Carrying concealed weapons in Texas is quite legal if one has obtained the proper permit and police officers are also quite aware of the fact and herefore do not wig out like whiny, tight-assed liberals a the prospect of encountering a lawfully armed citizen.

Realising that the idea of a citizen exercising his/her Second Amendment Right and though that right, obtaining a permit to carry a weapon in a concealed manner often causes so-called "liberals" to run projectially at both ends, it is nevertheless a fact that the lawfully Armed Citizen is a good thing.

The scenario described by garco and others simply does not happen and the Armed Citizen stops or prevents over 2,000,000 crimes annually.

You do realize that you guys won this argument and that Gun Control is no longer a Democratic Party platform, right? As a matter of fact, the NRA endorsed quite a few Democrats during the mid terms. Many "liberal" states also have liberal carry and conceal laws. I am originally from Michigan and it is very easy to get a concealed weapons permit... just as easy as getting a permit for a pistol.

Why don't the pro-gun lobby just admit that the reason why they want guns is because it gives them a hard-on.

Like i said in Texas you can carry a gun legally in your car even without a CCW. As long as you are not a felon your all good ;) Thats why robery is low here. You know if you go in to knock over a 7-11 half the store will have a gun to shoot back :P

If you have a concealed to carry license in Texas, you have been had a background investigation and been cleared as one of the "good guys".

If you so much as have too many traffic tickets or bitch slapped somebody ten years ago, you will not get a license.

That is why when the police stop you and you offer your drivers license and cc id, the police will chill because they know you are OK.

Can you link me on that? Is it by county? I've never heard of that... and to clarify.. Felon means even if you AFTER you have been arrested for a felony. Thus... if you haven't expunged it off your record, it still applies.
