Probably because his buddies have been told that if he doesn't get in contact with them by such-and-such time, they're supposed to release the password to the "insurance" file.

Too bad they didn't deny him contact. Would be nice to know what's in that file. :)

He is in jail in the UK...and maybe it is SOP to provide internet access there...but it is not in the U.S.

Maybe someone from the UK can speak as to providing jail inmates internet access...being standard operating procedure.

Yep they will be watching what he does. but what he would be doing is only posting a message on some open board or something so others know not to give out the pass just yet.

He is innocent until proven guilty. But when your a flight risk AND need to be extradited to another country, you cool your heels in prison.

Your innocent until proven guilty in the US also. But that doesn't mean in all cases you get to run around hog wild. If your a threat to society or a flight risk, you sit in a cell.
