Phad Advice #1: Always Drink at An Art Show [PIC]

Now I own this.

Probably will regret it, but so far my lady has been strangely supportive.

DaddyHalbucks 12-09-2010 11:07 AM

At what price?

Phoenix 12-09-2010 11:09 AM

id like to buy some art at an art show...but my budget for it is not what is needed probably..lol

i always thought it would be cool to find some art students and their stuff

Spunky 12-09-2010 11:09 AM

Sell it on Craigslist

DamianJ 12-09-2010 11:10 AM

You should watch Exit Through The Gift Shop. How a totally untalented mentally ill person fools the world (well, LA) into thinking he is some kind of genius. Interesting movie.

EpicPanda 12-09-2010 11:12 AM

The artist had some very self-serious explanation about how it's from his series concerning this and that. To me, it's a knock off of the Warhol and Basquiat collaborations:

...but with Star Wars. Love it.

alexchechs 12-09-2010 11:15 AM

I keep a look out for things like Indie Art festivals, and Artist Loft tours. We just had a few of those in back to back weeks. Some fun hand-made stuff.

And in that line of thought, check out Etsy for what you're looking for:

No, I think it's a Warhol and Basquiat knock off, like the picture I linked above. Other guy was saying to check out the Banksy movie Exit Through the Gift Shop

kazbalah 12-09-2010 11:34 AM

The artist who did this has a beef with mobile gas - Using petrol in enemas is not a good idea..

ottopottomouse 12-09-2010 11:48 AM

Looks dreadful but if you like it that's all that matters.

Chosen 12-09-2010 12:09 PM

:thumbsup

CaptainHowdy 12-09-2010 12:12 PM

The advice would be: "don't drink at an art show"??

So it's a knockoff of one of the most over-hyped and under-talented artists in history? :1orglaugh

HBKKH 12-10-2010 01:55 AM

If anybody is ever looking to purchase art, this site has some nice urban art/street art updates. I've been collecting art for over 2 years now and have built up a pretty nice collection of Banksy Art, Mr Brainwash, Faile, Invader, D*Face, etc. :)

Enjoy, urban art fans!

HerPimp 12-10-2010 01:35 PM

Every shitty piece of art needs a good line of bullshit to make it appear better.

The circles and the colors represent the brainwashing scam that they do to us. Oil is war, pollution etc... but companies give us logos and ideas like ford is american and creates cool cars and supporting our country. By not knowing who is behind the mask allows them to continue to do evil deeds and not feel directly responsible... Worth $35,000 atleast good buy!
