fighting a speeding ticket

i was going to school at like 8 in the morning from my friends house and i was running late for school and i got a speeding ticket doing 15 over but got written up for 5 over. i dont care about the $80 but i want to get rid of the points. is there anything i can say if i fight the ticket so i can get off?

just keep going to court. they can't do shit to you.

I usually will plead not guilty and then they have to have the cop that pulled you over come to court. Usually he won't show up unless it is pretty serious and then the ticket is dropped. That is how is works in Colorado anyway. Good luck!

most states have an option that if you have not attended traffic school in the last 18 months, you can do that (online even) and avoid getting the points on your record

go to the book store. there are tons of books on how to get beat speeding tickets. each State has different nuances and different laws but i think in general, the pattern is the same.

i had a friend who had a lot of books like "speeders guide to beating tickets" and he went to court everytime and won. in Washington State, the officer must do a lot of things like include a statement on the back of the ticket as to when the last time the radar gun was callibrated, a statement regarding his training in the use of the radar gun (when and where) etc etc. there is usually a ton of details that no one challenges that can cause the ticket to be automatically void.

In the town where I live, if you have nothing on your record for the past 3 years and get a speeding ticket for less than 15 miles over the limit, you can take a one day class and they drop the ticket.

Pick up your yellow pages ... call a traffic attorney .. most will only charge you $60-$100 bucks ... you won't have to waste your time going to court and sitting around with a bunch of morons ... you usually won't have to go to traffic school or suffer points (unless you've got a shit driving record).

nooooo dont get an attorney for a most likely 2 point ticket, thats pointless.

just talk to the prosecutor when you get to the court room, get there a little early. they will probably drop the points and give you a ticket that costs a little more $.

I got a speeding ticket too... on the way home from vegas.

20 over the limit. for speeding tickets, they just send a bill or a choice to appeal. I might as well pay it and making it up with the time it takes to go to court.

ICQ me, i think I can help

In Michigan man, go to court. Usually the cop doesn't show up. Even if he does, if you have no points, ask the judge if he will remove the points if you pay the fine. Most of the time they will.
