GFY Golfers - What Is Your Handicap?
 

i'm a 14, but i am making it my mission in 2010 to become a 4 or less...

it's a pretty lofty goal, but my instructor tells me that is i practice for 20 hours a week i might be able to get there...

whats your handicap and how many hors a week do you spend practicing and playing?

My best round was an 82, at the time I was playing 2 - 3 times a week and going to the range at least once a week. That was 5 years ago. I played last week after not playing for a year and shot a 105. :helpme

i know those days all too well..

i play from the tips and i usually shoot pretty shitty when i play a new course..

i have been working a lot on course management and focusing on each shot as opposed to looking at the hole as a whole if that makes sense..

about 70% of course shots are made from 100 yards or less, so i have been trying to focus on getting to 100-125 out instead of focusing on getting on the green..

my instructor has me laying up on par 4 and 5's instead of trying to hit the green..

its really helped me to focus on each shot even though i am making a lot of bogeys on par 4's that i would probably par if i went for it..

Buy three wedges if you don't already have them. Shitcan your long irons (3 and 4) and get some nice 7 and 9 woods...and you'll beat my ass :-)

Had it at a plus one only three years ago, since found myself working more and now a 2-3, send me some good traffic so I can play more and get it back :)

i got rid of my 2 and 3 irons and switched to hybrids..

made a huge difference since i cant hit the 2 or 3 to save my life..

next week i am getting custom fitted for nike combo irons. i am currently playing vr split cavity irons.

i am switching irons because i can hit blades with shorter irons, but for the mid irons i need the forgiveness of cavity..

when i get custom fitted, i am going to have the short and mid irons delofted so i can get some more distance...
