Wikileaks.org pulled...
Controversial whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks has suffered a blow after its domain name provider said it had withdrawn service to it.
Source - Sky News |
Can't say I'm surprised... Waiting for the death or jail news.
|
The dirt was good tho. damn
|
|
Just released that it's a DOSS attack?
|
odd that they don't have a bunch of other domains ready to move to. word about a new domain would get out in a day.
|
They'll come back on another domain and be just as popular.
|
Wonder who will have the balls to host/register the site again..
On the other hand, it would be better if people had the documents and started posting them up on their own sites to just keep it all going. Thousands of sites keeping it all live would be the ultimate nightmare for those wanting it all to just disappear. |
But is the domain dropped or just the DNS services for the domain?
BTW, the services are still running on http://46.59.1.2/, http://213.251.145.96/ or http://collateralmurder.com/. Also see http://wlcentral.org/node/463 |

I liked wikileaks better when it still was a wiki.
Nowadays, the seem to specifically want to fight the US. Not much on there. And they hold the exclusive access to what can be uploaded and what not. We should be allowed to post info of Mallick there, for example. |

It's the damn DNS services and was done only because they were suffering from the DDOS attacks as well.
Bullshit thread is bullshit. |
I think that info on Goldman Sachs was due to be released today?
|
When he declared that he is going to release bank docs - that was it, he will be dead or neutralized soon. Banks rule the world!

Something to do with Goldman Sachs and a huge government bail out?

I dont understand why someone would announce what they're about to do, rather than just doing it. Is this hollywood marketing or something? Trying to stir up enthusiasm in people in advance? That was not bright.

Funny how the real pressure started being applied when he announced that he was going to release the info on the banks.
|
That guy will be dead soon.

land of the free, but at what cost???
|
freedom of speech, with a bullet in the head... oh the irony that this world possesses.
|
all they need to do to fix wikileaks.org is change the nameservers. The domain status looks fine. I don't understand why they haven't changed nameservers yet, either they don't have access to the dynadot account or else they're just eating up the free publicity.
|
im confused, was his domain confiscated or did the dns go offline and he couldnt find a replacement?

The DNS provider stopped providing DNS service for wikileaks.org. The nameservers for wikileaks.org is still showing:
Name Server:NS1.EVERYDNS.NET Name Server:NS2.EVERYDNS.NET Name Server:NS3.EVERYDNS.NET Name Server:NS4.EVERYDNS.NET EveryDNS posted a public statement: “EveryDNS.net provided domain name system (DNS) services to the wikileaks.org domain name until 10PM EST, December 2, 2010, when such services were terminated. As with other users of the EveryDNS.net network, this service was provided for free. The termination of services was effected pursuant to, and in accordance with, the EveryDNS.net Acceptable Use Policy.“ The domain does NOT appear to be seized. And Dynadot, the registrar for wikileaks.org, doesn't appear to have stopped service for it. I'm not sure why wikileaks hasn't changed to new nameservers yet. |
