What is going to happen to Julian Assange?
Man seriously what is going to happen to this guy? Do you think they will catch him?
People fucking want his ass! Scary. :Oh crap even Palin is saying they should treat the guy like a terrorist. |
palin is an idiot...she would be the first to start witch burnings again if she could
i suspect he will be killed sooner or later....the thing is he isnt really posting anything that sensitive if he was...with the amount of attention he gets...then he would be dead soon after |
Quote:
He better hide really, really well. :upsidedow |
But the fact is....... if he really hasnt broken a major law, they should perhaps consider introducing one instead of retroactively pulling this guy in because they simply (to use US phraseology) "dont like his ass".
|
from what I read they are doing something with legislation to suit their needs to get this guy... not really good. They are going to ream him if they catch him.
|
he's gonna be Time magazine's man of the year :)
|
its crazy :2 cents:
|
rumor has it he is already dead. they have replaced him with lookalike to infiltrate wikileaks.
|
GO JULIAN!!!
o |
Yeah they were all like "post proof or be banned" so...
|
He is not a terrorist, he is a spy.
|
Unless he is very smart and very rich he will be dead within a few months.
|
Not a thing. He's most likely a CIA/Mossad asset. They will call for his head with each and every new leak, but it will never amount to much.
He's also got that AES256 encrypted "Insurance" file out there right. His little insurance policy if the CIA ever turns on him. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/201...nsurance-file/ |
He will turn up dead due to a sudden case of incurable brain cancer.

A little transparency of our government's actions could be a good thing to keep them in check, but if anyone thinks that things can function without secrets, they're living in lala land.
I say the guy has bad intent, and just wants to give the US a black eye. |
Quote:
As for the general public, they'd probably never be able to crack the file. They would only see it's contents in the event of Assange's untimely demise. |
why do people think he's just hurting the US. russia is coming up soon for them and they will just kill him.
|
Too bad you cannot buy a life insurance policy on an unrelated person naming you as the beneficiary.

His biggest problem is most likely not whats been published but what every shady government is afraid could be published in the future. Making large crowds of people afraid for their power and who have unfettered access to unlimited resources and scary people who sneak in the night making people go away isn't a great formula for living a long life. :2 cents: |
There was an interesting talk he gave back in July at TED: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/ju...wikileaks.html
In the end, he's not the problem here. They know that. This stuff will always get published somewhere. The problem is their own security. |

http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/...nce/p64954.asp Right now, your company could have a life insurance policy on you that you know nothing about. When you die -- perhaps years after you leave your employer -- the tax-free proceeds from this policy wouldnt go to your family. The money would go to the company. Whats more, the company might use this policy to pay for retirement benefits and other perks not for you or your fellow workers, but for your companys top executives. Sound outrageous? Such corporate-owned life insurance is also big business: * Companies pay a whopping $8 billion in premiums each year for such coverage, according to the American Council of Life Insurers, a trade group. * The policies make up more than 20% of the all the life insurance sold each year. * Companies expect to reap more than $9 billion in tax breaks from these policies over the next five years. The policies are treated as whole life policies. So, companies can borrow against the policies (though the IRS won't let them write off the interest). And the death benefits are tax-free. Hundreds of companies -- including Dow Chemical, Procter & Gamble, Wal-Mart, Walt Disney and Winn-Dixie -- have purchased this insurance on more than 6 million rank-and-file workers. These policies, nicknamed dead janitors or dead peasants insurance, soared in popularity after many states cleared the way for them in the 1980s. Congress recently tried to crack down on the practice, to the howls of the insurance industry -- which earlier this year managed to derail reforms. |
He's a figurehead, doesn't matter what happens to him - Wikileaks won't just die.
|
He will probably go missing like Osama ;-)

He will be locked up in Britain and that's the end of it.
The question is why they will lock him up. The rape story was obviously fabricated. |
Dont shoot the messenger.
The world is a fucked up place and we need people like him to expose the shit. Gonna set up a mirror for it |
Just something that should be noted, a lot of people have accussed him of publishing stolen documents, but it should be noted that the US government, the creator of the content, is explicitly forbidden from copyrighting any of its content. So therefore, all these cables are public domain.

wich coming from the dailymail means nothing at all ...:2 cents: |
I expect his lawyers will challenge the arrest warrant in the courts in Britain as soon as he is arrested, this sort of thing can drag through the courts there for months, even a year, so he wont be going to Sweden any time soon. In the meantime he and Wikileaks will be getting a lot of publicity. Will be interesting to see if they dump something really big when he is arrested.
|
Where am I??
|
All the massive criminals as Bush are happy walking around and this guy need to get hired for reveling what those rats do... fucked up world.
|
Have you ever seen the movie Munich? If he keeps on doing what he's doing I wouldnt be surprised if he gets that same sort of attention from more than a few countries "special" intel departments.
