check out the amazing city center, there are two areas i remember- 1)the plaza with the Botero scultptures is something you should see. 2)the area of town beneath the overpass (could be a train overpass) - its lively. don't recall any bars/clubs of note but i am sure there are. Medellin is one of Colombia's great towns. I was there 2006 and the danger factor was low. The bus from Bogota had to be diverted because of some drug war skirmish so it was a long trip but worth it. from there onto Cartagena, now that is a crazy ass seaside town. |

It's mostly safe. Stay out of the shady areas (if you see kids sniffing glue, leave) and industrial zones and you will be fine. AMAZING women there.
