How do you make sure your site is loading for people as fast as possible?
 

I think that the visitors distance from the datacenter is going to mostly determine how long it takes the site respond and load for them?

But if I wanted to go with a server that could have my site displayed the fastest what would I look for in the host/plan?

So is it the distance between the datacenter and surfer that makes the biggest difference and an expensive hosting plan won't improve anything much?

What about having mirrors of a few landing pages placed all over the globe? Are there hosts that can do that?

data center isnt going to matter too much in a lot of cases if you go with any major one.
more likely speed issues will be on you as loading a large graphic or too many will slow everyone down way more than any distance on the internet will
i think google webmaster tools gives you some help on your site speed
