One of the guns used in Vegas

Do we really need 100 round clips??

Automatic weapons are nearly impossible to obtain but a stock runs about $160 online, and it's legal.
It appears Paddock also had a SureFire 100 magazine clip hooked on the rifle with the stock. The 64-year-old reportedly had multiple high-capacity magazines loaded.
Sunday's shooting is the deadliest in modern U.S. history.

The only reason to own this weapon is to kill a human being.

I would as long as the cans are empty; I don't believe in wasting beer.
I'd take a day at the range over a football game any day. :thumbsup

exactly, and the spray, these kind of weapons are not accurate unless you have it on semi for a single shot.

This weapon should be kept on a range for fun, as a sentimental show case, but not fur use on the street. Itīs illegal to have on the street, it should be illegal to purchase :(

Not everyone has too.. it only takes one every few days...

pimpmaster9000 10-03-2017 01:17 PM

In a normal country the police would laugh if you asked for a permit for such a weapon...

crockett 10-03-2017 01:17 PM

Just imagine how fast gun laws would change, If that DC baseball shooter would have had better aim.. I wonder how Republicans in Congress would have reacted if that guy had managed to kill 5 or 6 of them..

It's easy to say you are pro assult rifles when no one's shooting one at you..

We discussed this once here on GFY if I receall. It's called a bump stock.

https://www.cnbc.com/video/2017/10/0...ck-device.html

More or less it turns a semi automatic into fully automatic.

How fast do you think the cops would have shot you dead in Vegas, had you been there with a gun and decided to be a hero and start shooting at the shooter?

It's obvious you don't know the rules of a sheepdog and assume that I would be shooting back and not taking cover. This was not a situation in which people could defend themselves. You are uneducated and think everyone is as dumb as yourself.

That's the price they feel everyone should pay for their 2nd amendment right.
But these same people have a problem if you express your first amendment right by kneeling at a game

I think you're another dumbass that doesn't know there are certain situations where having a gun doesn't help. Persons with CCW don't always come out shooting. Safety is always the number one concern of any responsible gun owner. The sheepdogs in this situation where the ones leading people to safety and providing help to the injured.

What does "NEED" have to do with anything? I like to buy hundreds of dollars of fireworks for the 4th of July. I don't "NEED" them.

Is there a "NEED" for porn? :2 cents:

And before then there will be multiple other senseless killings and maimings because of a stupid gun law and stupid people.

Compare these.

List of countries by estimated number of guns per capita

List of countries by firearm-related death rate

Canada = 0.38
USA = 3.60

Quote:

America is an exceptional country when it comes to guns. It?s one of the few countries in which the right to bear arms is constitutionally protected. But America?s relationship with guns is unique in another crucial way: Among developed nations, the US is far and away the most violent ? in large part due to the easy access many Americans have to firearms. These charts and maps show what that violence looks like compared with the rest of the world, why it happens, and why it?s such a tough problem to fix.
You have allowed a violent culture to own the means to kill by amending the Second amendment.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Your government is bought and paid for, you've given up the rights to a free society without a shot being fired.

E-x-a-c-t-l-y! This is a rare case when I have to totally agree with you. Especially, because the one don't have even to modify it. He can buy and AR-15 in Walmart attach a bump stock for $40 and practically transform it into a fully automatic M4. Juridically it's juts a semi-automatic carbine, but in fact it's an assault riffle which can spit 400-800 bullets a minute. For example, AK47 (witch is forbidden in the USA since 1986) has a 600 round/minute ratio.

He adapted the gun to automatic in order to kill as many as possible. No weapon should be allowed that is able to be adapted. No magazines should be in civilian hands. Over the maximum of 6 bullets. all owners of guns should go onto a computed based data bank that flags multiple guns, and their capabilities, owners.

So by that rationale, the US should be the safest country, with so many able to shoot back.

It's a bullshit argument.

You're old enough to see how society has changed over the past several decades. It has nothing to do with the availability of firearms. I made no argument but the right to defend myself.

Make guns harder to get? Yes. Make it mandatory to take a safety class? Yes. Limit magazines to six rounds? No. Gun registration? No.

I am not one sided on this issue but I rather stop the bad people from getting guns, not the law abiding citizens. I am against most forms of government control. I should not be punished for another one's actions.

Mental illness is rampant. Toxins are in our food and water. Media lies and uses emotions to brainwash people. Society is deteriating. Banning guns won't fix anything.

I ran across the anarchist's cookbook when I was twelve. I still haven't blown anyone up. You can make a bomb with household ingredients. It's much simpler than buying a firearm.

Markul 10-04-2017 11:51 AM

Civilians should not own assault rifles. Anyone that thinks so needs to get their head examined..

If everyone was microchipped, monitored, and dependent on the government for basic needs there wouldn't be any crimes. We should also take away cash and use only electronic currency. That way we can monitor what everyone spends their money on.

I think the most rational argument here has more to do with banning the weapons that can be easily modified into fully automatic rifles as opposed to banning all guns. I'm sure we can all agree not only would that not help it would be practically impossible given the numbers. But by removing the weapons that shoot at those higher rates it may not stop mass shootings but would limit the numbers of people they can take out if they didn't have access to SUCH large magazines and rounds per minute capabilities. For example if someone tried that same thing here in Canada, the most someone could possibly shoot would be a few dozen rounds tops, with lots of time in between for people to get out of range.

Your anarchist cookbook argument is a false comparison though. It's not 'just as easy' to make a bomb or create poisonous gases, it takes a lot of work with very dangerous materials, planning and some form of fusing. Much more complicated than simply pointing and unloading with a modified fully automatic into a crowd of people.

NRA didnt invent bump stocks Slide Fire did and they were initially approved by BATFE back in 2010. US Patent 8,127,658 B1 (2012) and 8,448,562 B2 (2013)

Strange... It's allowed at EVERY firing range in Russia. You can fire with anything you want. We have the world's biggest covered shooting range here. You're just not allowed to take the guns with yourself :)

Even little kids can get a practice there:
