.us sites?
Are they possible to turn into a success or are .com's the only way to go?
|
|
Depends if you want to target local only and the keywords hopefully only one but i would recommend buying a dot com over anything even if you need to buy a parked name.

.com is still king :thumbsup
I like .net and .org next, and for adult I also like .xxx .us is the country code for the United States |
there no privacy, you have to use your real name and or company in the whois info
|
Yeah, the privacy thing sucks. Otherwise they work fine. The coms will take all the typeins, though.
I would rather go for a .net or an .org. |
.US is most effective, in my opinion, when the TLD is read as the word "us" -- as in "we belong here" or "this is our site". That doesn't mean it will be easy to rank high in search results when competing in a tough niche. And I would still recommend backing up the Blah.US domain with a corresponding BlahUS.com. All I'm saying is that the brand name can be quite strong with .US in some cases.
If you decide you want to go for a particular .COM but are concerned with the cost involved, I may be able to save you money, by the way. |
I don't like .us sites. .com's are far better even for SEO.
