What's the coolest thing you ever saw?
I wanna see it too..
Ideally backed up with video evidence curtosey of Youtube or some nonsense. |
I saw a guy eat his own head once. That ranks pretty high on my list.

There's lovely syrup everywhere and her hair even gets waved back from the second spurt. It's awesome. |

Then there was this time I was sitting in a neighbor's yard, drinking beer, playing dominoes. I heard a car racing up the street from behind me. I turned and yelled, "slow down!"
I saw it was a van towing a speedboat. Just then he hit the brakes causing the boat trailer to come up off the trailer hitch. The tongue of the trailer came up, hit the back of the van and slide to the left. The trailer hit a parked car pretty much perpendicular and slid along the side of the car, just flattening the left side as it sheared along. Then the trailer stopped and the boat went flying and landed in the street behind the parked car. It was almost slow motion and looked so cool. I had to laugh when the guy came and asked us to lift the boat up to put it back on the trailer. Turned out, he had borrowed it. |
As one who does a lot of urban exploration and abandonment photography, I've seen a ton of rather cool shit over the years.
The abandoned buildings at Bethlehem Steel in Lackawanna - lit and silhouetted by constant heat lightning one night. Unfortunately, Buffalo's finest confiscated my time lapse photos that night (long story, lol). Underground steam tunnels (at night) at a 100 yr. old abandoned insane asylum in Whitby, Ontario. An abandoned 100 yr. six-storey 'shopping mall' in downtown Hamilton - at night (Lister Block). Creepy as hell...but way cool. It even had an indoor swimming pool in the basement (partially filled with very vile, black water...or something). Unrelated, I also recall seeing jet-skiers doing backflips in the class 5 rapids of Devil's Hole area of lower Niagara River gorge - about 5 years ago. That was wicked cool. It'd be interestin' to hear Quantum-x's coolest thing he's seen. |

oh and I fucked nice nicks mom.... |
I was working on a Naval flight line and watched a large aircraft crash about 20 yards away from me. Even though some people got hurt, it was still pretty cool to watch.
|
Anybody ever see old men crying at their own graveside, and pigs all sitting watching pictures slides?
|
Whale watching a pod of Orcas less than 100 yards away
|
The first thing that popped into my head was seeing Les Paul play Somewhere Over the Rainbow in a jazz style, at a club in NYC.
I'm tired... there's probably other cool things, just can't remember them now. |

I saw this almost 2 years ago from about 25 feet away.
I was working on the display, 2 days to set up and 1 to clean up. |
I'm reminded of the time a buddy and I hiked down to the bottom of the Horseshoe Falls at Niagara one winter's night - to do some timelapse photography on the icy roof of the old de-commissioned hydro station at the base of the falls.
The colored spotlights were on the Falls - and the view was spectacular beyond words. A totally epic vantage point. We were so close it filled our entire field of vision. Got some amazing shots, too. Living close to Niagara Falls, I've seen them hundreds of times - but that night the view just took my breath away. |

Have watched Metallica, AC/DC, The Police, Faith No More, U2, and tons of other bands from up in the stage roof or side of stage.
Unfortunately have also seen lots of SHIT acts from the same vantage points. But it's the best seat in the house. |

I watched a tree in my backyard get struck by lightening and explode. It was engulfed in flames in the middle of a downpour... incredible.
