I remember a certian group of people who claimed electric cars were a fad..
https://www.theguardian.com/environm...europe-by-2035
A certian group of people here on GFY, you you the global warming denial types were very sure that this whole electric thing would go away. They often said the Telsa was just a novelty, said no one would build enough charging stations, ect..ect. Seems they were wrong.. |
Driving around Europe on a battery would be a lot easier than trying to do that here.
|
Electric Ferrari would suck.
|
electric car will go on after oil mafia is off
|
Which came into existence first electricity or oil?
My new 2lb flexible 100 watt solar panel just arrived today, it makes energy. So clean :banana |

Dollars & Drama - Oil Trading From World War II To Today...And What's Next Beginning around 2009, reports began surfacing that several major oil producing nations, including China and members of the Gulf Co-operation Council, were discussing the creation of their own oil benchmarks to challenge the dominance of the US dollar. And this past summer, China announced the imminent creation of a yuan-based benchmark. The Shanghai-based contract will compete in the oil futures market, which directly threatens the US dollar's 40-year role in the global oil market. Im waiting until its viable to build a electric van. There is one guy that just put a Telsa drive train in one but it,'s only 2wd. I want mine to be 4wd but needs to be a better charge station network before I can go that route. |

I look at it this way.... My old Mustang Cobra was fast for it's time, but now any run of the mill Mustang can match it. The only way Ferrari will survive is by it's styling and luxury. |

Drivers don't want a fucking EV with autopilot and 150 assistants. :321GFY It's awkward and only good for idiots that can't fucking drive. |

If electric cars are to combat climate change can someone explain why my mini van will have a smaller carbon footprint after I drive it 100,000 miles than a brand new Prius rolling off the assembly line ? I am only talking about what was required to make the battery

but if you look into countries where this energy is already replaced on a much higher level with green energy the numbers look completely different. we are far away from perfect but things are going better and better as long we think on the whole energy chain and replace it step by step. that the future is on green energy is already proven with the fact that the oil nations are trying to buy every company what is involved in it. the oil states already know what will happen - only some "yesterday men" will wake up when the train has left the station. |

You people seem oblivious to the fact that not all combustion engines run on fossil fuels. You know a diesel engine can burn plant-based fuel too, right? Hemp fuel burn 90% cleaner. The solution is farmers growing energy crops, not destructive mining to make batteries. Once again Crockett science = epic fail. :2 cents: :pimp |

Right now, electric cars are "green marketing" for money when in fact they cause more environmental harm then they repair. Nuclear fusion is the future, but we are just touching the surface on that one. |

Why do you need a minim van? |

Lift the federal ban on industrial hemp farming. Encourage farmers to grow it. Use it for fuel, food, and thousands of green products. :2 cents: |

Back then when car was new thing, someone said "cars will fade away , horse is here to stay" and we seen how that ended :)
Basically, electrical car will replace gas car , only question is when. I think it should be around year 2050. |
Leave it to the dumb libs to ignore facts.
In reality, they should be called coal powered cars, since 2/3 of the power grid is fossil fuel. Then there is nuclear energy, whose waste is in no way friendly for the environment. Oh & all that rare earth mining in china to make batteries, so dumb libs make-believe they are helping the environment. As usual, fairy tales over facts from the dumb libs. Idiots. :1orglaugh |
something people are not talking about. do these cars cause any danger to living things? i don't know if any of you remember when transformers gave off electrical currents. we will have a hybrid cancer in 20 years it will probably kill you in a few days. :2 cents::2 cents:

Also some of the very 1st cars were actually electric and powered by batteries. |

I was always a Trans-am guy. I owned about 10 of them between 1987 and 2001, the last production year. http://www.livecamnetwork.com/gfypics/ta.jpg When Camaro's came around I bought one in 2010 http://www.livecamnetwork.com/gfypics/5a.jpg ... then another. My last Camaro was a fucking sick beast : 2SS RS 1LE 550HP V8 Roar mobile. http://www.livecamnetwork.com/gfypics/6.jpg (Yes, I love the color grey for cars). I totally understand the romantic enthusiasm people have for the sound of a V8. Personally, I prefer the low hz rumble of a V8 than a high pitch wine of a 4 cyl any day. It is very safe to call me a V8 or F-car enthusiast. I get it. I understand. I know and appreciate the hard-on that a V8 can give any dude. Now that being said, the sound and the rumble is only 1 small part of the car that anyone can love. You can also love the styling, handling, braking and especially performance. Would you agree? Lets talk about performance. EV's like the Model S easily beat most V8's in a race, but you know this already as do most everyone else. EV's accelerate like crazy. What you may not know is that many EV cars can out perform V8's too, simply because the center of gravity is lower to the ground thanks to the battery. EV's corner like they're riding on rails and if you don't believe me, I challenge you to go to a Tesla gallery and ask for a test drive. You won't fucking believe it. So now: Imagine a performance car thats fun to drive, beats most V8's on the road and corners like a beast, but with the V8 roar replaced with silence. That's what an EV is. Quote:
Maybe you don't need autopilot, but maybe others do. Even if you never get one, autopilot driving someone elses car might save them from crashing into you one day. Anyway, I grew out of V8's and switched to EV's. To be 100% honest, I miss my Camaro, and always check out the other Camaros & Vettes that roar by, but I'm now 100% EV and will stay that way. Of course EV's aren't for everyone depending where you live and where you need to drive every day, but I urge you to at least go to a dealer and check them out. It can't hurt. Cheers! |

Thanks for the explanation, I still don't give a fuck about this electric shit :1orglaugh |
Production of batteries so "green" or toxic?
|
i don't ever plan to own an electric car. its bad enough that i am driving a honda crv. i miss the old days driving my 83 monte carlo around. i eventually plan to get a 68 gto or something similar.

Oh you did NOT just type that shit!!!! You don't even like cars so where do you get off lecturing about how a Ferrari would handle better if it was electric. I bet you haven't even sat in a Ferrari whereas I've been blown on several occasions while driving a 365 GTC/4. Mark you're a tall goon at the very least get yourself an SUV even if it's just a "Hyundai." |

Electric cars are a fad.
The future is in the next fuel technology breakthrough when you won't need to "re-fuel" for years. Hydrogen fusion or some such. |

to get 50 gallons of plant oil per year you need 10.000 squaremeters land. Americans used about 392 million gallons of gasoline per day in 2016 now count a bit and after that tell me WHERE you find the land what you need for your "intelligent project" and even WHEN you find the land where do you plant all the other important agriculture products ? you anwsers and thoughts are so immature that you can see from it alone how little you know from things you're talking about. |
